Country Office Operations Manager at CARE International Switzerland - Sudan

Accomplishments During the period:
• Identified and analyzed transport and warehousing requirement to ensure safe custody of NFIs in all levels of activity, through tender analysis and transporters selection and replacing the existing warehouses with other rented ones that have more storage capacity and less rental costs.
• Instrumental in setting up our operations in Kadugli that included staff recruitment, warehouse hiring, office set up, transporter appointment, etc. He is well aware of CARE systems and procedures. .
• Contributed to maintain a systematic tracking for NFIs movement, to insure safety and accountability, through the JLC workshops and proposed new waybill tracking sheet and pre-printed ledgers. And contributed in cross checking other field offices records. As well led the training of the staffs in all UNJLC operational offices.
• Studied and analyzed the warehousing capacity, rental cost and truck load for cost efficient operational offices for the UNJLC project, and that yield to significant reduction of the transport cost by up to 31% and increment in warehouse capacity up to 35%, and the reduction of rent by 27% through negotiating with land lords.
• Worked closely with the LC to review current staffs’ capacities to respond to emergencies and being prepared to shift to reconstruction phase.
• Led the training of other Logistics staffs and raised the bar of performance in all UNJLC project offices.
• Established a new tracking sheet, for tracking receipts and payment for all way bills issued by the UNJLC, which resulted in identifying old missing payments and justified for final payment.
• Maintained good relations with all partners specially the UN Joint Logistics Center at KHT and field levels, and as well UNICEF.
• Update all JDs for UNJLC staff.
• In coordination with JLC Khartoum, implemented the project plan, to insure GED in all the project activities.
