Teaching (1st, 2nd year students as well as Master level students. Taught: Fluid Mechanics, Statistics, Mathematics, Laboratory Skills, Experimental Techniques. Also I was the year one course director. Research activities included projects for BMW/Siemens.
Developping and testing a novel 3D flow visualisation technique.
Conducting resaerch on fluid mechanics phenomenon
Responsibility: Preparation for an intensive research project on laminarisation of turbulent flows due to acceleration. I worked closely with technicians and researchers to familiarise myself with the experimental techniques & the data acquisition system.
Consultancy for Callaghan Automation Limited -Whitbread Beer Company - Chester. Mainly trouble shooting using a computer package (NETMATE) to simulate a pipeline system. NETMATE results gave quick & cost-effective fix to a pressure deficiency problem.
Passed the PMI exam as highly proficient in the topic subjects and became a Project Management Professional (PMP)
Postgraduate Diploma in Academic Practice (Masters level). • Modules studied: 1) Teaching, Learning and Assessment; 2) Academic Development for Students; 3) Quality Enhancement and Evaluation and 4) Discipline-based Practice.
Ph.D. on “Simulation of Flows over the Leading Edge of a Swept Wing”. Multi-disciplinary research project initially funded by Defence Research Agency (DRA) - UK. I joined the project when it was at the verge of a total collapse due to the researcher’s decision to go for another job. Leading a team of technicians and liaising with professionals, I managed to change failure to success and brought the project back on schedule. Results were presented to DRA-Bedford (UK) in June 1997.
