*Conducted routine monitoring of the contractors and service providers operating on The
Pearl Qatar (TPQ) in order to identify potential hazards to the surrounding environment,
arising from activities taking place on TPQ. This was carried out according to a
scheduled monitoring programme and through random field inspections.
* Created and maintained an accurate record of contractors and service providers for
project monitoring and auditing purposes. Additionally, created and populated a
statistical database that displayed a quantitative representation of the various
environmental incidents
* Ensured that the best possible environmental practice was carried out by contractors and
service providers on TPQ. This was achieved via development meetings, the review of
policies and procedures, the issuance of directives and the introduction of a monetary
penalty system.
* Investigated resident/visitor complaints concerning, but not limited to, exposure to
hazardous materials, noise pollution, dust pollution, air pollution and water
contamination.
* Reviewed the requirements and issued permits for dewatering and pest control on TPQ.
* Collaborated with contractors, service providers and the local community to promote
environmental awareness and education.
* Conducted environmental monitoring programs for the following parameters:
Dust
Hygiene
Noise
Potable water
Recreational seawater Ad-hoc
* Project management of the ecological survey and the collection of seawater, sediment
and benthic fauna samples. Accordingly, assisted with the design and carrying out of
field activities related to wildlife species surveys including: plants, birds, amphibians and
invertebrates.
* Reviewed, updated and assisted in the development of all environmental policies,
procedures and directives, interpreting and integrating new State legislation where it
was applicable.

*Undertook the management of a standardized environmental audit programme, in line with
the Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP) provided by the client, and the
development of detailed reports in which non-conformances, corrective and preventive
actions were outlined.
* Analyzed environmental data in order to review the CEMP, and develop standardized
operating procedures. Additionally, provided recommendations on their implementation
and application within the project.
* Engaged with external stakeholders in order to identify and rectify environmental concerns
linked to the project.
* Delivered an environmental training programme in order to ensure new recruits were up to
date with regards to the required environmental standards set by the Ministry of
Environment.

*Developed and implemented an environmental management plan for the responsible use
and protection of the natural environment through conservation and sustainable practices,
in order to attain environmental stewardship monetary grants.
* Conducted baseline ecological, environmental and national heritage surveys to establish the
requirements for monitoring parameters.
* Simultaneously coordinated an environmental monitoring programme and a conservation
audit programme, in order to keep the farm within the appropriate environmental
stewardship requirements.
* Some of the parameters that were monitored included: Air quality (CO2, methane, nitrous
oxide and ammonia), groundwater (artesian well and stream), soil and nutrients (nitrogen
and heavy metals), wild birds and terrestrial invertebrates.
* Worked independently to schedule and complete the monitoring and audit programmes,
and delivered regular analytical reports in a timely manner.
* Delivered an environmental training programme in order to ensure all staff members were
up to date with regards to the required environmental standards of the stewardship scheme.

*Developed health, safety and environmental strategies and implemented internal policies,
developing the competence of the company's personnel in Health, safety and environmental
codes of practice, through training and support.
* Responsible for the internal HSEQ monitoring and audit programme, and the development
of detailed reports in which non-conformances, corrective and preventive actions were
outlined.
* Collected and collated HSEQ data in order to review and develop effective HSEQ policies,
procedures and guidance in keeping with best practice. Additionally, provided
recommendations on their implementation and application.
* Ensured the necessary actions were taken to maintain current and future quality
accreditations and supporting documentation, in accordance with ISO 14001.
* Championed continuous sustainable development of the business, in relation with new
HSEQ policies, in order to improve the performance and efficiency of the work space.

Assisted with the management of over 30 environmental personnel, working on 12 separate
construction packages and 18 developer sites.
* Implemented a standardized environmental audit programme and managed the offsite
consultant's environmental monitoring programme in line with the Construction
Environmental Management Plan (CEMP)
* Assisted in the collection, collation and analysis of all environmental audit/monitoring
reports, in order to compile monthly environmental compliance/performance reports to
present to the client.
* Ensured new local environmental legislation was identified and its requirements
incorporated into the CEMP.
* Engaged with external stakeholders in order to identify and rectify local environmental
concerns.
* Ensured all new personnel had basic environmental training and access to suitable
environmental information, guidance and support.

*Attended and provided input at collaborative meetings with the client, as well as internal
and external consultants, in order to satisfy and clarify anything within the project
concerning LEED.
* Assisted with the preparation of weekly reports regarding the progress of the project in
terms of LEED.
* Attended weekly meetings and site visits, in order to assist with the identification of areas
where credits were to be allocated, and to monitor the overall progress and status of the
project.
* Conducted research on sustainable building materials such as pulverized fuel ash (fly ash).

Assisted in the inspection of construction/camp sites and preformed detailed monitoring of
water quality, noise, dust, exhaust emissions, indoor air quality and food hygiene.
* Assisted with the investigation of hazardous environmental incidents, and produced detailed
audit reports in which non-conformances, corrective and preventive actions were outlined
* Received on-the-job training in the operation of the in-house laboratory equipment, in order
to analyze potable water samples for coli form bacteria.
* Helped to issue warning notices and penalties to non-compliant contractors.
* Delivered basic training workshops for new contractors on environmental aspects
appropriate to their line of work.
