The project Coastal Environment Remediation and Restoration (CE-RR) is funded by United Nations Compensation Commission (UNCC) and implemented through Presidency of Meteorology and Environment (PME) Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It addresses the damages that occurred to the intertidal habitats of Gulf Coast of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, especially the salt marshes and tidal flats in the coastal embayment as a result of 1991 Gulf war oil spill. As part of ecological restoration of salt marshes, various engineering /environmental measures like remediation and restoration of existing tidal channels, new channel excavation, heavily oiled sediment removal, mangrove planting, etc have been proposed. My duties as the Project manager were the:
 Management of two remediation projects CRC5 and CRC9;
 Preparation of contractual submissions, schedule preparation, works planning, organization of work teams, management of oil releases, preparation method statements and work plans;
 Monitoring excavation of tidal channels, remediation by tilling technique, removal of asphalt and heavily oiled sediments, transplantation of mangroves and other perennials, and construction of temporary spoils staging areas.

Lead a team of international and local experts delivering a technical assistance to PMU for a €100 million infrastructure investment programme financed by the European Investment Bank and the AFD. Assisted in the identification and development of project pipeline. The investment components included 13 projects covering sectors such as solid waste management, wastewater treatment, urban traffic management, urban development including informal resettlement, and tourism development. Was responsible for all phases of project preparation including pre-feasibility & feasibility studies, assistance in design, tender preparation (FIDIC Red & Yellow), and implementation monitoring. Responsible for capacity building and programme visibility, including preparation of training programme, study tours, workshops, programme website. Project initially for a 4-year period suspended by the EIB after 1.5 year due to political unrest in Syria.
