Being a project engineer in project management department, I was focal point for overall project involving all stages of project like initiation, design, material procurement, contract service support and execution management with project close out activities. The responsibilities project stage wise involved but not limited to the following;
Arrange KOM to mutually understand the SOW for projects and proponent requirements.
Preparation of Project control documents, like project WBS, schedule.
Facilitate all required document retrieval in order to complete design package.
Managing and working with Engineering team (Process, Electrical, Piping, Civil & Instrumentation) to ensure project completion on given deadline.
Arrange progress meetings with design contractor.
Review of design packages on different design stage, 30%, 60% 90% and 100% packages
Conduct review meetings to clarify and close all outstanding comments.
Generate Purchase requisitions for LLI and shelf materials in SAP
Preparation of Procurement Schedule to meet Project ETC
Participate for technical evaluation of all technical and commercial vendor offers.
Review of technical bids for LLIs.
Review of vendor documents i.e NMRs, NMR-601/602 & 603.
Review and Ensure SPDPs to be complied by vendor.
Controlling the flow of documents (NMR’s, SPDP’s etc.), coordinating technical reviews/clarifications, monitoring the procurement schedule
Participate in job explanation meeting with contractor
Review of contractor service orders.
Develop required planning and scheduling documentation to control project execution and ensure safe and reliable execution progress.
Participation in JSA development, monitoring safety requirements, confirming contractor’s compliance with requirements.
Manage pre-fabrication activities where required.
Weekly formal meetings with construction contractor and update progress to PM through MOM.
Coordinate different testing requirements during fabrication and construction
Maintain logs of technical clarifications, changes and change orders for the duration of the project.
Coordinate with engineering design provider for additional drawings and details as necessary to supplement “Issued for Construction” drawings to facilitate ease of construction.
Provide Field Assistance for “As-Built" drawings, for updating of all engineering documentation to “As-Built” status.
Design resolution for engineering queries raised during construction phase.
Arrange final walkthrough after execution of project, coordinate to close all Yes/No items raised during walkthrough.
Focal Point of several EPC and LSTK projects for delivering/achieving project targets.
Estimating Engineering Man-hours and involved in Technical/Commercial Bid development
process
KOM to mutually understand the SOW for projects and proponent requirements.
Carry out site visits if necessary to understand project scope.
Preparation of Project Schedule, Technical proposals.
Ensure all required document retrieval from client design offices.
Managing and working with Engineering team (Process, Electrical, Piping, Civil & Instrumentation)
to ensure project completion on given deadline.
Follow-up progress meetings with client / Subcontractors.
Work on Stoner Pipeline Simulator Version 10.0, Hazop Manager, Version 6.0, KORF Hydraulics
Version 3.3.
Report to Project Manager on status/progress of projects on daily basis and ensure to meet client
deadlines.
Reviewing of 30%, 60%, 90% and IFC packages before official submission to client.
Prepare QC procedure and checklist/ forms.
Preparation and review of technical requisition of LLI, review of vendor documents.
Ensure the work is done on the best deliverable Quality as per standards and client expectations.
Ensure all design deliverables are meeting with Sabic drafting standards.
Assist in the planning and conducting of QA audits and surveillances.
Carried out Safety/Risk studies (Pipeline Hydraulic and Surge Analysis, Hazard and Operability
HAZOP, Preliminary Hazard Analysis for various projects especially with Saudi Aramco/Sabic and
GES+ companies.
Attended various HAZOP and SIL Session as Process Scribe with Hazop Leader.
Worked on Hydraulics surge analysis through SPS, overpressure mitigations in the pipelines
Providing inputs to technical specification and data sheets during conceptual and detail design
stage
Worked on Pipeline sizing, pressure drop calculations, Pressure relief valves sizing.
P&ID’s developments, PFD’s, Hydraulic calculations, NPSH Calculations.
Process Simulation software’s (KORF, SPS) for steady state hydraulic and surge analysis.
To set a time line for completion of projects.
Supervision of fabrication process of the plant.
To ensure successful execution of projects.
To supervise the Installation & commissioning of water treatment plants.
Co-ordination with clients regarding project activities.
Installation & Commissioning of 40 & 78 m3/hr RO plant at Hunza Sugar Mills Shahkot.
Installation & Commissioning of 60 m3/hr RO+ MB polisher plant at Unicol Limited.
Installation & Commissioning of 10 m3/hr MB polisher plant at NishatChunian Power
