Working in KESC as a “General Manager Internal Audit” since July 2007. The Company is engaged in generation and distribution of electricity. The main responsibilities are:
Planning of various audit, special assignments and investigation engagements.
Developing a strategy for the efficient and effective completion of the engagements/ assignments (Annual Audit Plan).
Coordinating and conducting periodic financial and operational audits of Business Operation Centres, Supply Chain and Finance department.
Examining electronic data, physical records, documents, processes, and systems in order to evaluate their quality, cost benefit, relative value and integration.
Reviewing the quality of work to ensure adequacy of test work, documentation of conclusions.
Assessing the overall control environment with the purpose of detecting significant loss potential, waste abuse or fraud.
Developing viable recommendations to enhance processes and systems in order to improve their quality.
Evaluating the performance of the assisting auditors.
Active participation in various management level meetings.
Special assignments, investigations and enquiries entrusted by Chief Internal Auditor.
Introducing risk based internal auditing environment.
Preparing presentation for the Board Audit committee.
Resolving the various issues encountered at the time of preparing the consolidated financial statement as well as standalone financial statements.
Preparing the consolidated financial statements in the format as per the requirements of Saudi Stock Exchange- (Tadawul).
Advising the senior management on all financial, accounting, auditing and taxation matters
Variance analysis of consolidated as well as standalone financial statements.
Calculation and commenting on NPV, IRR etc.
Dealing with the external and government auditors for the completion of quarterly and annual audits.
Variance analysis of consolidated as well as standalone financial statements.
Also a part of the Risk Management Team of the Company engaged in designing the framework and plan for the implementation of “Enterprise Risk Management” program based on COSO Framework. A pilot has run on three business units to identify and measure the enterprise affecting risk and mitigation plans for those risks are under process.
Also Performing International Financial Reporting Standards IFRS compliance review of the Company’s Financial Statement as well as also involved in the implementation of Profit Centre Consolidation Module of SAP.
Involved in the preparation of Financial Statements of the Company complying the requirements of International Financial Reporting Standards and Fourth Schedule of the Companies Ordinance 1984. The Financials Statements has been awarded as best prepared reports from Last three years in Pakistan.
Designing and establishing Accounting and Control System for the Company’s newly established Cards Division that includes Fleet & Corporate and Prepaid Cards.
Devising and developing credit terms and policies for Corporate Credit and Fleet Fuel Card that encompass credit evaluation based on financial and market analysis and monitoring outstanding receivables.
Liaison with Bankers to establish collection system and making continuous improvements thereon.
Engaged in various corporate secretarial tasks.
Involved in Developing Business Process and Procedures in FI module of ERP “SAP” during its implementation at PSO.
Attended ERP “SAP” in house advance training courses executed by Siemens Pakistan for PSO Employees, giving awareness of functionalities and process involved in FI Module of SAP.
