Overall Job Responsibilities
•Manage day-to-day Operations at Jetty and Land based facilities.
•To supervise wharf and yard operations.
•Ensure operations in the terminal goes smoothly without delays.
•Optimize Resource allocation to maximize profits.
•Coordinate with all Departments to provide value added service to customers.
• Manage, motivate, coach and instruct all operational team members. Structure tasks and goals, establish efficient courses of action, set priorities, organize information, efficiently execute with following considerations.
a.Staffing levels for management and labor
b. Terminal Productivity
c. High level Operational Strategy
d. Long term Equipment needs
f. Customer and Service requirements
g. Safety requirements.
•Directs activities of Operations staff engaged in stevedoring, gate operations, yard operations, vessel planning, and CFS Operation and support activities.
a.Sets goals and objectives for the operation.
b.Guides Supervisors in resolving obstacles so that goals can be met.
c.Analyzes performance statistics and trends in order to identify areas for improvement.
d.Ensures good communications between Maintenance and Operations to minimize equipment downtime.
e. Ensures good communications throughout Operations group and their group interactions so that activities are running smoothly on a regular basis.
•Ensure all the terminal activities are carried safely and in accordance with the company HSEMS standards.
a. Ensures monthly safety meetings are conducted at various levels of the operations group.
•Regular site inspections / patrolling to make sure safety in container operations, Regular inspections at onboard vessel(ship) to check the safe container loading and discharging operations.
•Achieve average gross moves per quay crane in line with terminal KPI.
•Achieve truck turn-round time in line with terminal KPI..
