MEICA (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Communication and
Automation) for Water Supply project under EPC from the Ministry of Electricity and
Water Authority, Kingdom of Bahrain at a cost of approximately 60 million US $.
Project involved two water distribution stations viz: Juffair DS and Busaiteen DS. Work
included engineering, procurement, fabrication and construction of 3 number each 5MGL
Ground Storage Tanks, I number each 1MGL capacity Elevated Service Tank, Pumping
Stations with LV switch gear and control rooms, Sub Stations, Guard Houses and
connected Piping work, complete Electrical, ICA, HVAC, Telecommunication, Cathodic
Protection, Chlorination facilities etc. and supply, erection and commissioning of
horizontal split casing pumps.
AMA had undertaken two Water Supply projects on EPC basis from the Ministry of
Electricity and Water Authority; one at a cost of 60 million US $ and the other at a cost of
30 million US $. These two Projects are completed in all respects and taking over
certificates issued by EWA. These two major Projects involved design, engineering,
procurement, fabrication and construction of five new potable water distribution stations
and augmentation of nine existing pumping stations. Notable to mention is the
construction of a partially submerged 5MGL RCC Ground Water Reservoir and a
1.25MGL capacity Elevated Service Reservoir with RCC pedestal. Work also involved
construction of LV switch gear rooms and control rooms, Sub Stations, Chlorination
Buildings, Guard Houses, fabrication and installation of surge vessels and surge towers
and connected Piping work, complete Electrical, Instrumentation, HVAC,
Telecommunication, Cathodic Protection, Chlorination facilities etc. complete and
supply, erection and commissioning of pumps of following capacities,
Worked for 5 years as
Hidd Forwarding Station – 3no. 635kW 6p & 3no. 375kW 6p 3300V, MV motors with VSD drives and 2no. 285kW 4p 400V, LV motors with VSD drives. Salmabad Forwarding Station – 3no. 375kW and 3no. 300kW 4p, 3300V, MV motors with VSD drives. Buquwah Distribution Station – 2no. 175kW 4p, 400V motors. Augmentation of nine existing pumping stations – 19 no. LV motors ranging from 75kW to 285kW, 4p, 400V. Bahrain Financial Harbour Distribution Station – 3 no. 280kW 4p, 400
