As part of the Smart Grid AMI-Team I have been involved in a project that shall compel a transformation in Distribution.
Leading the team of AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) my key responsibilities include:
Technical:
Requirement definition for the Smart Metering.
Devising Technical solution regarding network monitoring and strategic meter placement.
Technically evaluate vendors for Smart Meters and Head-End systems.
Conducting User Level training Smart Meters Configuration.
Conducting User Level training for Head End System (Data retention system for smart Meters).
Understanding and using Oracle Utilities MDM (Meter Data Management) software to implement in conjunction with AMI smart meters.
Process Design and Re-Engineering:
Delivering and Facilitating multiple workshops regarding process design between vendors and relevant stakeholders.
Designing process and solution architecture with respect to multiple softwares and interfaces, to fulfil company business needs.
Designing and Documenting SOPs for Field and system operations during the course of the Project.
Developing Inventory Management and Supply chain process for Smart Meter Commissioning.
Designing and Documentation of To-Be Processes of the AMI Department.
Project Management:
Preparing Project Plan (Gantt chart, Resource Allocation, Network Schedule Diagram etc.) for overall AMI Smart Grid Project Plan.
Preparing, Managing and Executing sub-projects.
Preparing Risk Management Plan and Risk Register for Smart Grid Project.
Execution, Monitoring and Controlling of the AMI Smart Grid Project.
Maintenance of Technical and Project Documentation.
Technical Evaluation and Documentation:
Preparing Request for Proposal for Local and International Vendors for Smart Meters, Communication and Head End’s consolidated solution.
Technical Evaluation of Proposals and establishing common understanding amongst vendors.
Preparing Technical Contracts (Scope of Work) for Local and International vendors.
Trainee Engineer in the Smart Grid Department in Distribution Strategy. Responsible for System Commissioning and Project Planning.
