• SDH Metro/DWDM Network:
All metro networks in central region are also optimized. Previously there was no concept of protection scheme between different SDHs on same physical location. I proposed 1+1 protection of all SDH entities that were mutually connected without protection in previous scenario. Now after optimization all SDH entities are connected in 1+1 MSP scheme. Second Major involvement was the designing and implementation of OFJAN/DWDM project in Central Region. Designing of multiple MSP Rings and 1+1 Linear Topology Networks and configuration of SDH Network were the important tasks involved in that project. I was engaged in management of more than 50 NEs on T2000 NMS ((TM) Huawei, China) . I gained expertise on OPTIX 10G, OPTIX 2.5G, OSN1500, OSN2500, OSN3500 and OSN 9500 series of Huawei Technologies.
• Central TXN Connectivity Database:
Compiled and created a central transmission connectivity database by collecting information from different stakeholders, along with a portal for ease of access to all departments.
• Installation and Execution of U2000 (Huawei-NMS)
Single handedly executed/coordinated for the installation, execution, delta removal and smooth working of a new server and U2000 for Huawei optical Nodes. This includes the addition/dilution of OSN550 Optical nodes for data traffic. I acted as the only point of contact between Vendor and PMCL (Multiple Teams) for the complete project.

Job Title: TXN Level-II Support Expert Islamabad (Aug 2008 onwards):
Being a part of Level-II Transmission Support I am responsible for maintaining Network Wide Transmission over Huawei SDH / DWDM Networks Nationwide. Main responsibilities are following:-
• Design, Implementation and Planning of Optical Fiber Network & FTTX network
• Complete command over Huawei U2000, T2000, Optix navigator and alcatel Lucent Aque View NMS.
• Network includes Huawei Optix and OSN series equipment on SDH and BWS equipment on DWDM.
• Commissioning of new Optical Nodes (OFJAN, LDI-SDH and DWDM Network)
• Troubleshooting of All Level-II issues, which cannot be resolved by Operation Level-I teams, are escalated to Level-II for analysis and resolution.
• Online Field Support for Field Teams from the NMS, which includes coordination as well as guidance for all field activities.
• Optimization of the network through Traffic Management and configuration on different routes. Identification of routes where Network Traffic can be balanced properly for minimal outage possibility.
• Responsible for all configuration related matters, thus reducing the overall downtime.
• Upgradation and synchronization of Nationwide Optical Network
• Arranging and maintaining spares for the nationwide optical network
• Point of contact for all vendor related issues anywhere in the network and their timely resolution.
• Responsible for decreasing the number of alarms on the network by catering for configuration related alarms, pending alarms and alarms for which the domain is not clearly defined.
• Maintenance of the DWDM/SDH Sun Servers that are monitoring the whole network and providing client access all through the Nationwide Offices.
• Assist Field Teams in Correct localization of fault, incase of a transmission media failure by interpreting different alarms showed by NMS since critical alarms are spread out across the whole link in case of DWDM.
Nationwide ATM Network
• All configuration related issues (Inter-MSC connectivity, GPRS connectivity)
• Implementation of new WO's, Addition, Dilution, Shifting, Commissioning Offloading of LL's from ATM Network
• Troubleshooting of daily routine issues like No-Audio, Distortion etc.
• Maintain In band Connectivity (NE Visibility to NMS) for each ATM node.
