* Developed a new, insightful, value-adding MI reporting pack, focusing not only on the finance aspect but also
providing actionable, commercially driven data. Very positive feedback received from senior stakeholders
leading to this pack being replicated across all of Group CIO
* Established a new recharge model, charging telephony costs across the whole bank, engaging a number of
stakeholders in challenging meetings for approval. Successfully implemented the new model making the
process more efficient and delivering process improvement.
* Delivered the 4YOP budgeting process for Networks engaging key stakeholders to understand key drivers for
the business. Relationships built through monthly forecasting across contracts & resource allowed
understanding of any opportunities and risks which having been flagged early, enabled improved business
planning
* Lead the finance renewal of the main, key Networks contract critically important to the Bank. Liaising with
colleagues across the Bank and actively participating in supplier negotiations, savings were delivered for
improved services illustrating commercial acumen as well as key understanding of the financials.
* Responsible for managing a central balance sheet for all of Group CIO, displaying strong financial management
and control. Presenting the findings to the Head of Finance for CIO and Group Director, illustrate strong
understanding of key numbers but also confidence to present to challenging stakeholders.
* Manage the development and workload of a graduate, ensuring he has challenging/stretching work enabling him
to gain/develop new skills whilst building core finance knowledge.

Cards Investment, Retail and Business and Transaction Banking - Group Transformation, Finance Manager - Cardiff

- Developed a new, streamlined, value-adding monthly Investment MI pack incorporating all Cards Value Streams giving a portfolio wide view. Pack has received senior business and finance stakeholder approval and positive feedback due to level of insight and analysis captured

- Ownership of all Cards projects in the Business and Transaction Banking (BTB) value stream understanding all cost drivers, producing accurate rolling forecasts and working collaboratively with the Business and Change delivering detailed, actionable information highlighting risks and opportunities

- Delivered capitalisation opportunities across the Consumer Servicing and BTB projects helping achieve the targeted rates through learning, understanding and applying knowledge of new capitalisation rules

- Successfully passed a QAR on the Cards Opex Balance Sheet, demonstrating strong cost control with key header sheet being labelled as an “excellent example for others”

- Facilitated budget agreements between the value stream, finance and business change to have one set of aligned targets to achieve

- Delivered Quarterly Business Review drawdown costs for Consumer Serving and BTB, agreeing costs with the Business and Change Head ofs allowing an aligned view to be agreed and consistent amongst key stakeholders

stakeholders around the business

Consumer Cards Finance, Portfolio Management, Finance Portfolio Analyst - Cardiff

- Redeveloped a key Repricing model incorporating all card brands allowing additional value add metrics such base rate changes and incremental losses to be fully functioning within the model. Significant improvements in efficiency, accuracy and functionality were achieved

- Production of Q3F forecast for Back Book focusing on Spend, Repayments, Retention, and FX Fees before modelling yields and outputs gaining experience in forecasting and planning. Successful sign off was achieved from senior stakeholders

-Responsible for monthly monitoring of GSI actuals for monthly Retention and Spend. Analysis and key reporting metrics were provided to the Customer Engagement and Retention teams to allow strategic decision making

- Facilitated a dispute with external party regarding payments of invoices as part of a joint venture. Successfully oversaw the winding down process and all £5m+ payments were received

Global Corporates, Commercial Banking, Junior Relationship Manager / Assistant EA - London

- Led project creating and developing presentation pack based on portfolio of clients as well as prospective clients that could be targeted based upon detailed financial analysis, wealth, business area. Successfully obtained further clients as a result of the focused research of this pack

- Liaising with Relationship Managers from Private Banking to identify client crossover enabling a more streamlined approach to increase efficiency but enhanced client experience illustrated by feedback received

- Strengthened the team’s understanding of whole portfolio identifying further opportunities and potential risks for clients based on RWAs, income and corporate structures
