Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for proactive supplier sourcing, supplier management, quality, delivery, and cost reduction.
Evaluate, develop, manage and maintain supplier relationships with key suppliers/vendors, including metrics, performance goals, corrective actions, and improvement initiatives.
Work closely with Operations Managers and Finance personnel at multiple locations to ensure all are negotiating and receiving best quality and pricing for purchases and services.
Develop forecasts for future demand and place timely orders based on vendor lead-time, market conditions, and individual manufacturing plants unique requirements.
Update and maintain the CRM system as well as communicate effectively with both internal employees and external vendors on status of orders and deliveries.
Frequent contact with suppliers and internal teams concerning production priorities, interdependencies, and schedules.
Negotiates and purchases all assigned products optimizing cost, delivery and terms. (Foreign & Domestic).
Follows up and expedites purchase orders as necessary to deliver on time to support the production schedule and customer required ship dates.
Travel to customers, vendors, suppliers, and other Company locations as required.

Lafarge Cement Syria (LCS) is the Syrian subsidiary of Lafarge Cement is the world's largest multinational cement producer that I had admired for a very long time. My duties included:
Provide market intelligence, souring and contract negotiation and drawing for consumable products, chemicals, engineering goods and services, drawing frame contracts, procurement and follow up of logistics.
Liaise with the relevant departments within LCS to forecast inventory and purchasing demands and requirements supporting Production Operations and report accordingly.
Manage key relationships, commitments, purchase orders and projects.
Analyse and optimize inventory holdings considering consumption history, demand forecasting and market availability.
Work with the Supply Chain Manager and other LCS functions to evolve Supply Chain strategies, systems and processes aligned with LCS overall objectives and the LCS Integrated Management System.
Pursue quality and service performance objectives and KPI's in the Supply Chain supporting LCS business objectives.
Drive purchasing sourcing strategies, negotiations and establishment of cost effective supply agreements and relationships for key goods and materials. Support the management of sourcing outcomes accordingly including service / product quality, disputes and reporting.

Support the resolution and close out of claims and disputes with suppliers and contractors.

Hachem Gypsum Products is a Syrian manufacturer of gypsum boards and Plaster of Paris Bandages.
The project included: Dismantling, transport, erection, commissioning, operation, staff training, and service of Sutcliff-Croftshaw (UK) Methylene Chloride recovery plant and IVF (Swiss) POP Bandage production lines. Worked under harsh sub-freezing weather conditions
