• Leading the MEP project team to ensure project
completion within budget, Project completion Program and in compliance with the design intent
and specifications.

• Acting as prime contact for all MEP disciplines.

• Review MEP contract documents (Specifications and IFC design drawings).

• Manage and coordinate MEP services and related
works to align with the contract scope of works
and contract completion program with close
coordination with the project planning team.

• Manage the various MEP subcontractors / suppliers as per the subcontract scope of works and completion programme.

• Arrange internal coordination meetings and workshops with various MEP subcontractors of different disciplines.

• Attend the coordination and site progress meetings with the project manager, client and the consultant.

• Work closely with the construction managers to
ensure proper coordination between construction
activities and MEP activities to avoid any clashes
that may cause delays.

• Review issued Engineer’s Instructions (EIs),
Variation Orders (VOs) and Subcontractors
submitted RFCs) in coordination with the project
Commercial team.

• Implement and maintain required quality in line with the project’s quality plan (PQP) to obtain client’s approval.

• Coordinate with the local authorities to implement the MEP works according to the local regulations.

• Coordinate between the subcontractors and concern parties to ensure that the MEP systems installation, testing and commissioning activities are managed and recorded in line with the overall testing and commissioning plan to ensure the handing over as per schedule.

• Review the development and execution of the testing and commissioning documents, including assisting in sourcing any external commissioning services necessary to deliver the project in line with the project codes and specifications.

• Regularly review the site ongoing works regarding HSE in line with the company’s HSE plans.

• Ensuring that installation of the MEP systems is in accordance with the design intent and
specifications.

• Resolve site technical issues that may obstruct
proceeding with site activities.

• Create and execute project work plans and revise
as appropriate to meet changing needs and
requirements.

• Identify resources needed and assign individuals
responsibilities.

• Manage day to day operational aspects of the
project and scope, ensuring effective executing
procedures with minimum cost.

• Review deliverables prepared by the project
engineers before passing to the client.

• Attend progress meeting with the client and alleviate any concerns that may arise.

• Review Engineering documents (shop drawings,
materials submittals, method statements).

• Review testing and commissioning method
statements in line with the overall commissioning
plan.

• Ensure project documents are complete, current
and stored appropriately.

Administrate overall maintenance and service
activities including trouble shooting for the container
handling equipment of different brands and models.

For example:
• Prepare the annual maintenance programs for all
types of equipment covering the preventive
maintenance (P.M) as to be ahead before
breakdowns occur.

• Prepare spare parts requisitions and perform tender
analysis, contacting dealers and suppliers, spare
parts inspection making sure there are no
discrepancies in parts specification before entering
the stores.

• Projects planning and forecasting to meet the
administration future business expansion plans.

• Participating in multimillion value key projects and new equipment including site survey for technical requirements, writing specification, evaluating technical and commercial offers, contract negotiations and awarding of the contract.

• Participated in miscellaneous projects as a member of supervising committee such as construction of ports internal buildings and storing closed sheds.

• Dealing with consultancy companies in the field of container terminal projects and equipment.

• Attending the necessary tests (SAT & FAT), and
writing technical reports.

• Participate in technical comities assigned by the
administration to study, analyze any technical
problems and suggest the best solutions.

• Co-operates with other port's departments such as marketing, computer, marine and traffic to meet the goals set for the port progress and development.

• Manage the manpower effectively, knowing each
technical staff member capabilities and assign the
jobs and responsibilities accordingly so as to control the idle time and over time. In addition to performing annual review and evaluation for each staff member.

• Recruiting, interviewing, and training new staff
members.

• Annual budget planning covering the electrical
section requirements, spare parts, consumables, test equipment, tools and needed electrical projects.
