Heading the Engineering function for Egypt sites for GSK. Responsible for maintenance activities, capital and projects in addition to overlooking over EHS activities.
Managing 4 manufacturing sites situated in Cairo and Alexandria for the three SSE disciplines. Sites are operating in confectionery field producing chocolate, biscuits, candy and gum products.
Leading the systems development in all sites including ISO certification, Vehicle safety, Auditing, Behavior safety, in addition to compliance to Kraft mandatory standards and applicable legislation.
Managing the Cadbury 4 manufacturing facilities in the middle east for quality, health & safety and environment systems.

-Implement Unilever SHE management systems based on the Frame Work Standard, as well as ISO systems.
-Managing the Department activities through two SHE coordinators as well as safety officers in every site. Reporting to the SC director.
-Acting as Mashreq management representative, responsible for leading the team to the ISO 14001 certificate on 2003 for both Foods & HPC sites. As well as leading the team to the OHSAS 18001 certificate on 2005.
-Member in the Leadership committee for AMET region in both SHE & Engineering networks.
-Leading the SHE pillar in Mashreq for both Foods & HPC as part of the TPM program aiming for the excellence award.
-Assess workplace and process risks by identifying and evaluating hazards, and setting plans for improvement, monitoring progress and auditing compliance.
-Implementing SHE training programs and awareness for employees based on training needs gap analysis.
-Auditing and evaluating workplace, shop floor, warehouse, and offices, then developing recommendations for improvement and follow-up closely.
-Qualified trainee auditor for Safety from IRCA & for Environment from IEMA.
-Qualified SHE auditor for AMET region, after successfully participate in three audits. (in Nigeria, Algeria, & Morocco)
I joined the company as the Electrical manager for the Tea factory (Lipton); I was managing a crew of 6 technicians responsible for all the blending & packing machines.
I was a member in the project team responsible for the new tea factory expansion and relocation, including the revamping project of Constanta machines automation system.
I managed during this period to implement a maintenance program for all electrical equipment, as well as setting clear plans for purchasing of spare parts. I ran intensive sessions for the electricians on PLC troubleshooting and programming.
I was a task force member for TPM implementation as well as being a team facilitator for one of the teams. Moreover, I was a trainer for the foundation courses of TPM (5S, Team building, & VPM).
• Supervising the electrical maintenance works for Rolling mill plants including mill line area, finishing facilities area, over head cranes, straightening shop M/Cs and water treatment station supporting the Bar & Rod mills.
• Direct subordinates to execute the maintaining jobs under periodical maintenance schedules, urgent repairs, and trouble shooting.
• Analyse and set the annual preventive maintenance plan for the plant machinery.
• Investigate and research troubles' causes, propose and execute modifications on the software for the automation system.
• Forecast and plan annual budget for electrical spare parts. Evaluate technical and financial terms for the offered equipment, and follow-up the purchasing procedures.
• Evaluate the vendor list and negotiate with the approved suppliers the purchase terms, i.e. technical specs, price, delivery terms.
• Supervision the installation work of new machines (such as O. H. Crane, Straightening M/Cs, Bar counter, Tying M/Cs, etc....) and updating technical staff knowledge on maintaining these equipment.
• Headed the electrical installation team for the New Bar Mill project. The mill annual production capacity was 300, 000 tons/year in 1997/98.
. Conduct regular technical refreshment training courses for the electrical department staff on yearly basis.
• Technical responsibilities include supervising the proper performance of the following equipment: - DC drives up to 800 kW Leonard speed controller. - AC drives & VVVF control. - Programmable Logic Controllers s/w & h/w for the types: (FUJI-MICREX, SIEMENS-SIMATIC S5, Mitsubishi-MELSEC, Allen Bradley, etc…)
BSc in Electrical Engineering from Alexandria University Electrophysics& Communications Department. Grade Good with graduction project on Visual Telephony with grade Excellent.
