SALT MINING
Working in world 2nd largest salt mine “Khewra” (Room & Pillar Mining)
Responsibilities
• Management control and supervision of underground mining operations and relates surface work including planning and production aspects.
• Planning and implementation of ventilation design and developmental work.
• Implementation of optimized drilling and blasting design for sequential extraction of rooms and pillars.
• Safety of labors, staff, mine and assets as per mining laws.
• Generate maps to effectively communicate mine plans and schedules for comprehension and implementation
• Handling responsibilities of developing short-term mining plans in consistent with medium to long term mining planning objectives
• Effective planning for efficient dewatering of underground water source below the 8th level of mine and fresh water inundation which is extremely hazardous for salt mines.
• As incharge (E & M), maintenance of all machineries, pumps, locomotives, generators, checking of transformers, fault detection, reducing line losses and rectification in power supply for smooth
provision of electricity to underground as well as administrative and residential areas.
• Maintenance and repair of 10km gravity flow pipelines from a spring in hilly areas to provide clean and drinkable water to all working areas, offices, colonies as well as to local community.
• Renovation, maintenance and security (CCTV Cameras) of Khewra Tourist Resort for providing friendly environment to national visitors and international guests.
COAL MINING
Worked in PMDC collieries Degari and Sor-Range (Longwall coal mining - inclined seam) Responsibilities:
• Supervising all underground mining operations drilling, blasting, loading, hauling and transportation of coal from mines to coal depot.
• Installation of proper supports in all working areas, roadways, haulways and backfilling of longwalls to ensures safety of miners, mines as well as all assets and resources.
• Conducting ventilation survey properly and ensuring toxic gases free environment to all working crew before starting of shift.
• Maintaining natural ventilation and providing mechanical ventilation in addition.
• Maintaining haulages, locomotives and other machinery in good working condition.
• Supervision of working planes & development scheme lay down by senior mining engineer, production scheduling and cost analysis with.
• Responsible for storage, handling and uses of explosive.
• Execution of mines planes in operations and providing daily direction to production supervisors.
• Maintaining all schedules and inspection books as per Inspectorate of Mines directions.
COAL MINING
• Supervising underground coal mining operations
• Inspect mining areas for unsafe structures, equipments, and working conditions.
• Conducting ventilation survey for ensuring feasible working condition to workers.
• Implementation of Mining laws, rules and regulations.
• Safe handling and usage of explosives.
I did my BS Degree in Mining Engineer and now Master in Mining Engineering is in progress.
