Working as a part of Backup administrator team responsible in provides enterprise backup infrastructure, administration and technology supports for multiple clients. This includes providing corrective actions for any incidents, which may occur in the backup software, performing different Levels of troubleshooting and support.
RESPONSIBILITIES HANDLED:
• Remote monitoring and management of the backup operations for enterprise backup servers across various locations in globally
• To participate in incident and change management processes.
• To compile statistics on Performance, and Utilization for management reporting.
• To assist all improvement efforts to meet & exceed the current SLA.
• To produce and maintain proper documentation.
• Sending alerts to the server administrators for each backup failure with recommended solution.
• Performing customized backups as per customer’s request.
• Commissioning servers to the backup services & decommissioning servers from the backup services.
• Troubleshooting of backup failures with respect to error codes.
• Installation of Netbackup Master servers, Media servers and Client software.
• Netbackup daemon flow for backup and restore.Experience in creating Policies, STU, SLP's and Storage Servers.
• Configuration, implementation, maintenance and troubleshooting of Backup Servers and Clients.
• Installation and Up gradation of Backup servers and client, Performance tuning on Backup server and Client
• Upgrading firmware in drives and Library
• Complete understanding of Tape management.
As a part of the Storage Management Team, responsible backup/storage operations for the Banking Client RBS Using tools - VERITAS NetBackup (NBU), TSM and Symantec Backup Exec. This includes providing corrective actions for any incidents, which may occur in the backup software, performing different Levels of troubleshooting and support
As a part of the Backup Administration Team, responsible for comprehensive backup and recovery operations for one of the leading UK Oil Industry’s Client using the backup/storage tools - VERITAS NetBackup (NBU), CA Arc Serve, EMC Legato Networker and Symantec Backup Exec.
