Project Role: Project Manager
• Managing a team of 10 technical staff including site engineers, quantity surveyor and land surveyors for various day to day site activities.
• Planning and supervising the construction of large diameter pipe laying activities by open trench, micro-tunneling, pipe jacking and the construction of associated structures such as manholes, valve chambers, etc.
• Monitoring the progress of works and ensuring that works are completed on site in line with the project design and contract documents.
• Conducting weekly and monthly meetings with all the construction managers, site engineers and supervisors to review progress on site and to identify critical activities.
• Identifying design issues within the project and discussing with the design team and advising suitable engineering solutions to site problems.
• Attending and participating in meetings with clients and consultants to discuss work completed on site, design issues, delays, site safety etc.
• Preparing Method Statements and Shop Drawings and submit to the Resident Engineer for approval.
• Reviewing the diaries of all staff members to ensure that detailed records are being kept and preparing the as-built drawings for review by the contractor.
• Liaising with the local utility authorities for approval of work permits, diversions etc. associated with the project.
• Conducting daily site inspections and providing solutions to various field problems.
• Assisting the quantity surveying department with the measurement of the works completed, the preparation of the interim accounts, claims for payment for additional works, etc.
• Ensuring that the works completed are carried out in compliance with the Health and Safety regulations.
Project: Roads, Bridges, and Cross Drainage, works at Main Gathering Centre, Wafra, Kuwait.
Client: Chevron Saudi Arabia and Kuwait Oil Company JV.
Project Value: KWD 25 Millions.
Project Role-: Senior Construction Engineer.
• Managing a team of 8 Site engineers, quantity surveyors, etc. and the construction of the foundation works including piling and raft foundations in accordance with the project design and specifications.
• Supervising the completion of the various types of interiors and finishing works inside terminal building.
• Attending and participating in the monthly progress meetings with the client and consultant to discuss progress on site, design issues, claims, health and safety issues etc..
• Keeping Right Check on all Activities done on Site as per the QHSE Plan Submitted to Client and Consultant..
• Full control of all Micro-Tunneling works inside the Airport area for Storm water Collections and Diversions by Pipe jacking using 1.8m Dia. Concrete Pipes.
His main role and responsibilities included the following.
• Managing a team of 05 site engineers and inspectors on day to day basis as they complete their duties and organizing their daily tasks.
• Assisting the tendering manager in the tender preparation and selection of consultancy and contracting firms for ongoing works.
• Supervising the sub contractors to ensure that the works completed are in compliance with the project design and specification and in accordance with the programme.
• Reporting to project manager on a daily basis and maintaining proper site records.
• Compiling records and measurement data for the quantity surveying department to assist in the analysis of interim accounts and claims by contractors for payment for additional work.
• Maintaining quality checks on pre stressed concrete girders, rebar, tendons, cement and concrete mix design, including taking samples and arranging testing in the laboratory.
• Executed and Supervised the Construction of Underground Railway Tunnels in hard rocks by Drilling and Blasting method and also by Jumbo Drill. In soft soil by Heading and benching method using various Mechanized tools.
• Maintaining Drilling and Blasting Registers and Proper records of Tunneling done on day to day basis .
• Day today discussions with safety Managers and safety Engineers on various safety issues on site and Providing required and Timely support.
• Discussions and Timely meetings with Local Population and briefing them about the works in their areas from time to time.
• Day to day Checking of Various works done by sub Contractors with Proper laboratory Tests.
• Checking of Levels and Coordinates with respect to approved design drawing from time to time with reference to Permanent Bench Marks.
• Reporting to Higher Railway Officials on day to day basis on Future requirements and Planning's.
• Executed and supervised the Track Linking and Installation and Fixing of various switches as per approved railway design. and welding & Testing of tracks.
• Maintaining Track, Sleeper and Ballast registers and Updating the records from time to time.
