a. Develops and executes marketing plans and programs, sets both short and long range objectives, to ensure growth in market share, turnover and gross profits.

b. Directs and controls the market research function. Draws up yearly or half-yearly market research plan and monitors the progress made in the work. Establishes the “portfolio of marketing information” of the Company.

c. Analyses the sales statistics for his market, according to market segment.

d. Keeps himself informed of the general economic situation and economic prospects in the lines which concern him, on the movements of competitors, in the home market, on the movements of competitors, the penetration of foreign products on the national territory and technological development. Based on this information he assesses the Company’s position.

e. Directs the market research efforts to analyze competitors’ strengths, price trends, new products availability and the company’s share of the different market segments.

f. Develops and implements in coordination with the General Manager and the Accounting Manager, a price strategy for the company’s products based on product costs and competitors prices, with the objective of increasing the sales and profitability of the company.

g. Decides on sales promotion actions to be undertaken within the framework of the objectives in view and on ways of measuring the effectiveness of these actions.

h. On the basis of the yearly plan draws up the instructions relating to the activities of the sales staff. Examines with Sales Manager the sales statistics and discrepancies in relation to forecasts about his market and takes necessary action to correct them.

i. Prepares for the materials Manager a sales forecast to ensure timely availability of materials.

j. Monitors the movements of the Company’s market and the changes and stresses foreseen and which result from the overall economic situation. Informs the General Manager of the forecasts relating to his market and takes adequate measures.

2. As part of the sales functions, Sales and Marketing Manager has the following responsibilities:

a. Decides on sales promotion actions to be undertaken within the framework of the objectives in view and on ways of measuring the effectiveness of these actions.

b. Sets up the sales structure: functions and jobs, rates of pay, policies and procedures for the processing side of sales - orders, invoicing, deliveries.

c. Fixes sales targets according to the sectors of activity, classes of products and categories of customers.

d. Recruits and selects sales staff. Provides training, motivation and encouragement. Evaluates the performance of the sales force and seeks improvements in their capabilities.

e. Prepares annual marketing budget and monitors performance against the budget. Is responsible for meeting budgeted sales targets.

f. Supervises, revises credit and collection policy and monitors outstanding
