Recently worked on Sheikh Zayed Road Study developing initiatives to reduce congestion
on SZR by producing highway design options including Quick wins Weaving improvements,
double decking of SZR and/or the supporting roads and public transport improvements.
As a Traffic Lead, worked on several Meydan Projects developing Master Planning
options and the associated Traffic impact studies, roads and infra design, costing and
programming

Working in Nakheel on all transportation, traffic and highway related projects. This
includes the review of all technical submissions from Third Party Developers that
purchase a plot within Nakheel developments related to traffic, parking, accessibility and
integration with the master plan road network. In addition, I managed the highway
interchanges cost share contribution with the Road and Transport Authority for all
Nakheel projects including the approvals of the Traffic Impact Studies.
Manage the transportation discipline within the department including day to day activities
of the department and ensuring all reviews and assessments are met within the specified
deadline and to a high quality.
Key input in the review and approval of the transportation studies and proposals including
setting deadlines for reviews, supervising the senior and junior Engineers within the
department and setting coordination meeting within Business Units to discuss their
requirements.
Support and guidance to Business Units and other departments on transportation
projects including, the appointment of competent staff and acquiring all necessary
manuals and technical reports.
Manage in-house design concept reports, preliminary design and site supervision
including acquiring the necessary manuals and software, allocating tasks to individual
staff and meet with my staff to discuss and resolve related issues.
Supervise consultant on highway projects including setting regular meeting with
consultants and contractors and issuing letters and instructions to meet certain tasks.
Manage performance and development of employees reporting to me including regular
meeting and discussions on technical issues and setting targets and timescale allocated
to each task.
Responsible for the review of technical traffic and highway submissions by Consulting
Engineers for various prestige Nakheel Developments including Dubai Waterfront,
Jumeirah Village North, Jumeirah Village South Phases II and III, Lost City, International
City Phases 2&3, Ibn Battuta Mall Road Improvements and Dubai Maritime City. Value
Engineering was an integral part of the review which included topographical survey and
grading plans, road geometric layout, access interchanges and intersections, road
profiles, road lighting, service corridors and right of ways, road lighting, signing and
marking, pavement construction and drainage.
Focal contact for Jumeirah Projects - Technical Master Plan Study. My duties included
setting tasks and action plans for the consultant and coordinate with related Business
Units and members of PIU Department to collect, assess and review data for the Study.
The study will determine the overall requirement of transportation and infrastructure for
the developments.
Technical Advisor to Business Units on transportation and infrastructure issues and
meeting their consultants as required.
Key member of Nakheel to coordinate with Roads and Transport Authority, DEWA and
other private and public sectors and obtain their NOCs.
Prepare Request for Proposals including The Palm Jumeirah Transport and ITS, assess
Consultants and Contractors bids and proposals and commercial issues.

The preliminary study covered scope of the works, soil investigation, assessment of
existing conditions, planning considerations, traffic assessment, services and
consultations, pavement design, drainage, proposed scheme layout, cost estimate and
construction programmes.
The design drawings included setting out plans, road layout, cross sections, road profiles,
pavement construction, road markings and traffic signs, expropriation plans, landscaping
plans, water supply, electricity supply, telephone service, street lighting, traffic signals,
storm water drainage, sewerage, irrigation and standard details.
Assisted in the preparation of bids and dealt with tender queries from contractors and the
Dubai Municipality representatives.
Prepared technical reports identifying and resolving satisfactorily Client requirements.
Reviewed the technical and financial aspects of the project with the client and produced
alternative solutions to an engineering problem.
Co-ordinated with other members of the organization, including the Traffic Section, early
in the project to identify and evaluate project requirements.
Allocated various highway design details and associated services to CAD technicians.
Ensured that the above activities were executed accurately and on time.

Responsible for the traffic assessment, preliminary and detailed design and Client Liaison
for many projects in UAE which includes Emirates Operation Centre for Emirates Airlines,
Al Barsha and Mirdif Area Development and Dubai Healthcare City for The Executive
Office, Wafi City Parking Study, Jumeirah Beach Residence for TECOM, Sea Palace
Interchange for Abu Dhabi Municipality and Rehabilitation of Jebel Ali Lihbab Road and
Paving of Footpaths and Sikkas in Rashidiya for Dubai Municipality.

Being Project Manager for Wingland Enterprise Park, South Holland - Proposed
Roundabout I was responsible for managing the design team to undertake the detailed
design of the scheme and its delivery to the client within time and budget.
Project Manager for Dudley Red Route. Responsible for managing a team of engineers
and technicians to develop the preliminary scheme layout for 12km of carriageway
through Dudley including Brierley Hill Town Centre. The scheme included junction
improvement, parking control, parking provision, pedestrian facilities, bus priority
measures, signing and marking. In addition, my responsibility included client liaison,
financial reporting, and quality management.
Deputy Project Manager for Midland Metro Stage 1 - Options Selection. Responsible for
developing preliminary metro route alignments and cross sections for Hagley Road
Corridor to Halesowen with spurs to Bartley Green and Oldbury, and Varsity Route
including Birmingham City Centre. Assessment has been made to potential impacts on
existing highway layout, geometric constraints, construction problems, operational
constraints, tram stop locations, interconnections, interchanges, interface with major
developments, other transport modes, land take, environmental constraints, capital cost
estimates, access and integration, link times and running speed. Traffic assessment has
been made and outline junction layouts have been produced. A series of workshops have
been carried out with the Centro (the client), local authority members including
Birmingham City Council, Sandwell MBC, Dudley MBC and Highways Agency. for Longbridge Link Road Study. I developed various route
alignments for the link road including the improvement of the existing Longbridge Lane. I
presented the options to Birmingham City Council (the Client) and other members
including MG Rover, Advantage West Midlands, Centro and other local authorities at the
Steering Group meeting.
Highway Team Leader for Frankley Scheme Development extending the railway line to the
suburbs of Frankley. I developed various highway options for Rubery Lane and a
concluding report, and managed a workshop which included members from Cento,
Birmingham City Council, Network rail and other organizations. We have reached a
consensus to take forward three of the options to a public consultation. Project Manager
for the signing and road marking of Newport Southern Distributor Road. The commission
included the design of advanced directional signs, flag signs, statutory standard signs and
road marking for approximately 10 km of dual carriageway and 16 junctions.
