Being Project Manager for Wingland Enterprise Park, South Holland - Proposed
Roundabout I was responsible for managing the design team to undertake the detailed
design of the scheme and its delivery to the client within time and budget.
Project Manager for Dudley Red Route. Responsible for managing a team of engineers
and technicians to develop the preliminary scheme layout for 12km of carriageway
through Dudley including Brierley Hill Town Centre. The scheme included junction
improvement, parking control, parking provision, pedestrian facilities, bus priority
measures, signing and marking. In addition, my responsibility included client liaison,
financial reporting, and quality management.
Deputy Project Manager for Midland Metro Stage 1 - Options Selection. Responsible for
developing preliminary metro route alignments and cross sections for Hagley Road
Corridor to Halesowen with spurs to Bartley Green and Oldbury, and Varsity Route
including Birmingham City Centre. Assessment has been made to potential impacts on
existing highway layout, geometric constraints, construction problems, operational
constraints, tram stop locations, interconnections, interchanges, interface with major
developments, other transport modes, land take, environmental constraints, capital cost
estimates, access and integration, link times and running speed. Traffic assessment has
been made and outline junction layouts have been produced. A series of workshops have
been carried out with the Centro (the client), local authority members including
Birmingham City Council, Sandwell MBC, Dudley MBC and Highways Agency. for Longbridge Link Road Study. I developed various route
alignments for the link road including the improvement of the existing Longbridge Lane. I
presented the options to Birmingham City Council (the Client) and other members
including MG Rover, Advantage West Midlands, Centro and other local authorities at the
Steering Group meeting.
Highway Team Leader for Frankley Scheme Development extending the railway line to the
suburbs of Frankley. I developed various highway options for Rubery Lane and a
concluding report, and managed a workshop which included members from Cento,
Birmingham City Council, Network rail and other organizations. We have reached a
consensus to take forward three of the options to a public consultation. Project Manager
for the signing and road marking of Newport Southern Distributor Road. The commission
included the design of advanced directional signs, flag signs, statutory standard signs and
road marking for approximately 10 km of dual carriageway and 16 junctions.
