• Responsible for providing leadership and operational oversight to the inter-disciplinary Health Centers team(s).
• Accountable for the effective and efficient use of human, fiscal and material resources in the delivery of quality family centered care.
• coordinating human resources to efficiently and effectively meet care requirements;
• collaborating with the Quality Improvement Coordinators and Professional Development Coordinators
• Managing day to day operational expenditures, including coordination of capital expenditure, auxiliary amenities, and supply purchases; participating in the development of the service plan for the care area(s).
Supervises the receipts, reviews and consolidation of Medical supplies requests, preparation of invitation of tenders, evaluation of tender submissions and recommends contract proposals above delegated level for approval by higher authorities. Supervises the preparation of purchase orders, corresponds with suppliers and fields. Awards contracts in accordance with the prevailing delegated authority at any given time and up to the set contract limit.
Extensive knowledge of sources of supply, market trends, pricing etc. which lead to extensive downtrend in prices for items already under long term
agreements.
Enhancing the list of approved suppliers with new reputable suppliers, to get competitive prices.
Provide direction, training and guidance to junior staff.
Conduct and coordinate all phases of negotiations, and usually achieve a good outcome.
Supervise procurement of medical supplies and pharmaceuticals; follow up on this process to assure efficacy and quality acceptance of the goods by the end users and health services providers. Conduct market research, participate in technical evaluation of the offers, and review specifications. Review and monitor prices as well as suppliers performance.
Manage and supervise hospital In-patient, and Outpatient services and medical supply operations. Member of Ministry of Health Tender Committee. Review medical supply policy, and recommend additions, deletions and change in specification. Participate in setting WHO List of Potential Drugs. Applied unit- dose system and decentralized drug dispensaries.
