• Occupational Health Centre: Manage the centre assisted by Pharmacists and Nurse, render outpatient and emergency medical services to about 3500 employees.
• Pre- Employment Medical of all new Hires ( Regular, Trainees and Casual)
• Annual/Periodic Medical - Bi-annual (June/Dec.) of all employees working in Hazardous Areas and suggestions for prevention of work related injuries. Spirometry, Audiometry, X-Ray Chest and lab work relevant to area of work.
• Annual Food Handlers Medical Check of all Canteen concerned Employees as per Factory Act.
• Eye Examination of all Drivers and Welders ( Factory Act)
• Prescribe & administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat an employee or injury.
• Order, perform and interpret tests, and analyze records, reports and examination information to diagnose patients' condition.
• Updating and maintaining accurate patient records (Computerized)
• Monitor the patients' conditions and progress and re-evaluate treatments as necessary
• Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients.
• Advise patients concerning diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention
• Refer patients to medical specialists or other practitioners when necessary
• E-Compliance: (As required by Directorate of Factories) - Fulfil all points of Compliance Manager including - Medical records, Biomedical Waste Disposal, HIV Compliance. Annual Medicals including Food Handlers.
• Maintenance of Ambulances as per Factories Act and to keep them well equipped at all times.
• Medical Supplies to Clinic.
• Oversee all medical reimbursement bills
• Health Education Campaigns : Deliver lectures on various Health related topics in the seminar rooms - Educate employees on significance of Diet and exercise and Regular Toolbox Talks on Prevention of Occupational Health Hazards (Shop Floor) with emphasis on use of PPEs, HIV Awareness Lectures.
• CSR Activities - Blood Donation Camp - Annually
• Responsible for Confidentiality of health records - e.g. HIV records.
• Supervise Pharmacists including duty roster, leave approvals and motivation.
• Oversee and replenish medicine/medical items stock on OHC.

• Pre Employment/ Annual Medical Check: Done when employees joins IOCL as an apprentice . Clinical Physical Check Up, Audiometry, Vision Test (Titmus), Pulmonary Function Tests
• (Spirometry) and ECG. Lab Tests - B. Sugar, A1C, Lipid Profile, LFT and KFT, PSA above 59 years age.
• Updating and maintaining accurate patient records

PROFILE AS A OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH PHYSICIAN:

OCCUPATIONAL MEDICINE has been a passion with me. I have been expertly handling Workplace Health Issues including Compensation claims. To keep abreast of the latest developments in the field of Occupational medicine - I have periodically been attending seminars/conferences/courses. Apart from routine clinical work I have also been managing following aspects related to medical set up as follows:

•Since December 2000, I was also managing the medical insurance policy for our employees. My job included co-ordination with insurance company, give approvals, process claims, oversee network of providers - as well as providing medical services through our In House Clinic.

All types of medical services to about 7000 multinationals in the Ministry of Industries project.

-Clinic also had fully equipped ambulance to provide mobile medical services on project site spread over a range of 40 Kms

• 70 bed hospital with all facilities like Lab., X-Ray, Operation theatre. Routine medical services out/in-patients and emergency procedures.

• Apart from routine medical services (out & In patients; Emergency cases) was also the medical officer in charge for certain health education campaigns that the center was running - Primary health care, Immunizations, Antenatal, natal and Postnatal Clinics; clinic for Under fives etc. These programs were Co sponsored by Agh Khan foundation (Geneva) and CCF (Canada)

One year posting: 6 months each in depts. of General Surgery& otorhinolaryncology(ENT) Independently handled all out and in patients, performed minor surgeries and emergency procedures & assisted in major surgeries.
