JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
» Comply with 100% HSE, Code of Conducts and applicable legislation & sustainability guidelines in line with international standards.
» Assist Team Leader to manage various Lab activities in absence of Sr. Chemist/Chemist.
» Implementation of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 for finished product test methods and Comply with ISO 9001, ISO 14001& OHSAS 18001. Participate in PT (Proficiency Test) & Inter lab Correlation Test.
» Responsible for Internal PM, Calibration, Validation & Troubleshooting of Lab Equipment e.g. GC, IC, ICP, TOC, RVP Analyzer, Total S analyzer, Mercury analyzer, KF Moisture Analyzer, Metrohm.
» Coordinate with Process & Inspection team with regard to the Schedules of analysis, Test runs, Shutdowns, Start-ups. Supports in technical studies to Plant problems requiring special analysis.
» Manages inventory of Chemicals, Standard Gas Cylinders, Equipment spare parts. Arrange disposal of expired chemicals as per MSDS.
» Procurement and Technical evaluations for purchasing Equipment/Spare Parts/Chemicals.
» Supervise and Perform variety of qualitative & quantitative analyses of Process, Utility and HSE samples according to HSE procedures and International standards & timely report through LIMS:
# Gas Analysis: Determination of Compositions, Mol. Wt. & Calorific value of NGL, Residue Gas, Sour Gas, Feed Gas by Gas Chromatographs. Analysis of Dew point. Mercury in Gas by NIC.
# Amine Analysis: Process Lean & Rich Amine Conc. H2S & RSH, CO2, HSS, Fatty Acids.
# Condensate Analysis: Density, RVP, DHA, Mercaptan, Water Content & Total Sulfur.
# Water Analysis: Chemical analysis of Boiler water, Steam condensate for Silica, Phosphate, Iron, DEHA using HACH Spectrophotometer. Chemical & Microbiological analysis of Irrigation Water for pH, Conductivity, TDS, TSS, Oil & grease, BOD, COD, SRB, IRB etc. Analysis of cooling water for Chloride, Nitrite, Nitrate using DIONEX IC. Detail analysis of Scale sample for Corrosion Control.
# Lube oil Analysis: Testing of Lube Oil Flash Point, Viscosity, Density, RPVOT, Water Content, TAN, Particle Size & Trace Metal using ICP.
» ACHIEVEMENTS:
• Suggestion and implementation of “Cost Optimization of Laboratory Budget” resulting annually 30 % reduction in Lab Operating Budget for Chemicals & Consumables.
• Implementation of ISO/IEC 17025:2017
• Develop new analytical test methods to improve the lab performance and efficiency and meet the customer requirements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
» Comply with relevant HSE Policies and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines.
» Responsible for Procurement, Calibration, Validation & Troubleshooting of Lab Instruments e.g. Various GCs including DHA, SIMDIS, PIONA, Total S analyzer, Mercury analyzer, Metrohm etc.
» Manages inventory of chemicals, Standard Gas Cylinders, equipment spare parts using LIMS.
» Implementation of ISO 17025 requirement including method establishment, writing WI & SOP as per International test standard and analysis of the followings & reporting results through LIMS:-
# Detailed Hydrocarbon Analysis (DHA) of Naphtha & Reformer Feed using Gas Chromatograph.
# Determination of MTBE, Oxygenates and Paraffin, Olefin, Naphthene, Aromatic (O-PONA) Hydrocarbon types in Naphtha, Gasoline by Advanced Gas Chromatograph (AC Reformulyzer).
# Analysis of Mercury in Gas/Liquid Hydrocarbon using NIC Mercury Analyzer.
# Determination of Compositions & Calorific value of NGL, LPG, RGA & Refinery Feed/Bottom/Acid gas, SIMDIS of Petroleum fractions by GC.
# Qualitative estimation of refinery Gas (H2S/RSH/HCl) by Drager apparatus.
# Determination of Sizing, Loss on Ignition, Carbon & Chloride in Catalyst.
» ACHIEVEMENTS:
• Accreditation of ISO/IEC 17025 for 3 Test method under my responsibilities.
• Inventory Management of Lab Chemicals/Standard through LIMS Auto Notification.
• Develop new analytical test methods to improve the lab performance and efficiency and meet the customer requirements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
» Safety: Ensure safety for human resources & equipment and adopt safe practices.
» Quality: Worked as Deputy MR of ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001:2004 & OHSAS 18001:1999.
» Planning: Plans, directs & supervises all the activities of Laboratory in absence of Section Head.
» Responsible for the Installation and Commissioning of new lab equipment. Monitor the performance of the laboratory instrument and annual preventive maintenance (PM) to ensure the business continuity.
» Provide input for preparation of the Laboratory Budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver Section objectives.
» Review & execute of LNG Sale Purchase Agreement (SPA) and liaising with relevant parties regarding Sampling, Specification, Analysis & Calculation in accordance with international procedures.
» Participating in Linearity & Correlation Tests between Petronet LNG & Ras Gas, Qatar to check repeatability & reproducibility (R & R) of Gas Chromatographs used in both laboratories.
» Monitor & Validate Online GCs (ABB) with Laboratory GCs (Agilent 6890N / Perkin Elmer).
» Responsible for Calibration, Internal PM & Troubleshooting of all Lab Instruments.
» Certification of Composition (Mol%) & Calorific Value of LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) received from Long Term/ Spot Cargo during unloading as well as metering as per SPA or applicable Standards (GPA2261/GPA2145/GIIGNL/ISO 6976) and reporting of results through SAP.
» Determination of Dew Point & Moisture in gases by Alpha/Shaw Moisture Meter.
» Analysis of various Water samples namely Glycol water, Hot water, Cooling water and Potable water using HACH Spectrophotometer, AAS, pH, Conductivity meter, Turbidity meter etc.
» Periodical inspection of corrosion coupon & suggests remedial measure to prevent Corrosion.
» Coordinate the analysis of non-routine samples with Third party laboratories.
» ACHIEVEMENTS:
• Commissioning of Petronet LNG-Dahej Laboratory.
• Implementation of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001 as Deputy MR.
• I received award from PLL-Director (Tech.) for suggestion “Quick assessment of Air heater water contamination with Glycol water system”.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
» Quality: Ensure quality of finished product through strict adherence to the quality management systems(ISO 9001:2000 & QS 9000) using SQC tools like Process Capability index (CpK), Ppk, FMEA, TQM, Calibration of equipments, Self Certification from Customers etc.
» Customer Feedback: Elimination of customer complaint by analyzing the root causes and applying the remedial measures.
» Cost Optimization: Development of internal Calibration & PM, reduction of off spec material, Yield improvement, process optimization etc.
» Active participation in R & D Activities to develop new product in co-ordination with Customer, Marketing & Manufacturing as per applications.
» Outstanding experience in analysis of Crude Oil (feedstock oil) quality like Moisture (%) by Dean & Stark Apparatus, API Gravity, BMCI, Viscosity, Ash %, Sulfur content as per ASTM.
» Monitoring & analysis of finished product Carbon Black, Rubber and chemical analysis of Boiler & Effluent water using Spectrophotometer, GC, Brabender Absorptometer, Bomb Calorimeter, rubber testing equipments such as UTM Instron, ODR-2000 etc.
» ACHIEVEMENTS:
• To improve yield & quality of finished product “An alternate binder for palletization of Carbon Black” was suggested and experimented under my Leadership. I received an appreciation letter from Managing Director (PCBL) for the above innovative work.
• I received award for submitting a Paper on “Prevention of Microbial Induced Corrosion of Metals/Alloys by Molasses” in CEMCON 2003 (National Seminar) at Bhubaneswar, Orissa.
• Active participation in R & D Activities to develop new product in co-ordination with Customer, Marketing & Manufacturing as per applications.
