Occidental petroleum Corporation USA (OXY) and The Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO)
Scope of engagement: OXY entered into an agreement with BAPCO to explore on shore Deep Gas in Bahrain. Scope of engagement was to apply procedures as agreed with The Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO) on monthly petroleum cost statements submitted by OXY to BAPCO. Procedures involved:
•Checking arithmetical accuracy of all the petroleum cost statements (the statements)
•Checking that statements are prepared in accordance with agreed accounting guidelines and procedures
•Checking that specifically excluded costs are not included in the statements
•Checking that only expenses specifically incurred for the Bahrain project are charged to the project
•Ensuring administrative overheads are charged as per the agreement
•Ensuring that amounts are incurred in line with budget timelines
•Ensuring all the operational contracts entered into by OXY are prior approved by BAPCO
•Ensuring all expenses at different slabs is approved as per authority matrices.
•Preparing report for submission to BAPCO
•Conducting meetings with human resource director and finance lead of OXY to perform aforesaid actions and finalization of reports
