While working as an Audit Senior in Ernst & Young Karachi and Abu Dhabi offices, my key responsibilities include:
Engagement planning based on the understanding of the client's business processes and assessment of business and audit risks, supervision of the engagement, review and finalization, including close liaison with client's management;
Coordinating with various professionals such as lawyers, actuaries, independent valuators and information technology experts and decision-making in respect of critical reportable matters;
Assisting clients in preparation of financial statements in accordance with the applicable financial reporting framework including
compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), UK GAAP, local corporate laws and directives of regulatory authorities;
Providing ongoing assurance and advisory services to clients regarding compliance with corporate governance laws and regulatory requirements of Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) - the Central Bank in Pakistan;
Evaluating internal control systems and risk management procedures, identifying weaknesses therein and making recommendations to management;
Assisting the clients in the reporting of financial and accounting information to their foreign group companies;
Managing firm's resources and staff of over 10 individuals on audit engagements;
On-the-job training and professional development of staff

The experience at the Assurance Group of the firm has enabled me to develop an understanding of regulatory environments of diversified industries, key business processes and the accounting and internal control systems of several organizations.
