Dealing with National Grid- SA system Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) required by the ECRA (Electricity & Co-Generation Regulatory Authority) as well as Internal.
Review, Follow-up and evaluation of Performance Indicators, Balanced Scorecard and Operational statistics.
Prepare analysis report on Monthly, Quarterly and Annual basis on the KPI values of the Transmission Network for the top management to have the quick view of the Network along with KPI’s targets for the Current and Future years for the Transmission Network
Carry out the Internal Audits of the Power Control Centers for the Validity of the Data and Procedure as requirement of the ECRA.
Work to raise the performance indicators at Internal and Business Line levels for the Division of Performance and Quality.
Development and building of National System to monitor Power Quality and Energy Revenues Measurement System i.e. (Automatic Meter Reading/Automatic Metering Infrastructure).
Participate in the PQ studies, analysis of PQ measurements and parameters, preparation of reports and remedy actions and follow up the implementation with concerned entities.
Participate in the fault analysis of impacted incidents.
Follow up with the concerned departments for implementation of various recommendations issued by Working Groups as to contribute and serve to raise the Performance and Quality of the Transmission Network.
Maintaining the safety Indicators according to the highest standards to ensure an environment free of accidents and injuries, fires and pollution.
Setting calculations of Electro-mechanical/ Static/ Numeric Relays relating to 220/132/11 kV Grid Station System & Transmission Lines :
Distance protection
Differential Protection (Transformer & shunt reactor)
Restricted Earth Fault Protection
Bus bar protection (Low & High Impedance)
Breaker failure protection
Over-current & Earth Fault Protection
Over Excitation Protection
Over Load Protection
Over Voltage Protection
Design and Review of Inter-Connection, Schematic Drawings & Cable Scheduling for 132kV, and 220 kV Substations.
Review of Inter-connection, Schematics Drawing, Cable Schedule, Relay Setting Calculations for Wind Power Projects and Thermal Power Projects.
Review of CT Sizing Calculations.
Provide the technical assistance to the field formations for operation and maintenance of the protective system and suggest improvements.
Analyze the outages and malfunctioning of the Network and suggest remedial measures to avoid recurrence.
Extensive experience of witnessing Testing/Inspection of Control and Relay Panels.
To study the new trends in the field of protection and its application in the NTDC/DISCO’s Network.
Technical Evaluation of Tenders for Protection & Control Switch-Gears.
The protective schemes submitted by the manufacturers under various projects are studied and approved in the light of NTDC/PEPCO specifications.
Research, design and Analysis of Tele-protection scheme like Inter trip, Cross trip, Blocking and Acceleration Scheme.
