Running Standish Services, a web design & digital marketing company in the UAE, has given me the opportunity to lead multiple projects in the IT industry. I have expanded on my skills in web design, web development and digital marketing as well as my knowledge and ability to handle multiple projects at once, manage time effectively, meet with clients and also deliver effective and efficient IT support to various industries.
Working as a Year 1 teaching assistant has been a fascinating and rewarding experience for me. I have gained some very valuable experience in relaying information and tasks to very young children. Working in this position means I have learned to deal with a substantial group of individuals (24 five to six-year-olds), work confidently and efficiently as part of a team and also prepared me for dealing with parents. I also have learned the importance of confidentiality and some of the best practices for working in a school.
IT Technician & E-Commerce Sales Assistant
Sarbkar NW is a Liverpool based Saab dealership. I have been working as an ecommerce sales assistant for Sarbkar NW selling and promoting car parts. My job responsibilities include stock checking, researching item specifics and creating a listing for the item. During my time at Sarbkar NW I have also been responsible for the business IT network undertaking maintenance on computer equipment, software and the network. I consider my time spent at Sarbkar as a great introduction to computers and networking in a business environment and as I know downtime will negatively affect the organization I am always expanding my knowledge to assess and correct any issues.
Audio Visual Networking Technician.
I worked as part of the AV team at the Qatar National Convention Centre assisting the Audio Visual team in the set-up of the audio and video systems in the newly opened convention centre. This was a freelance short term contract for the set-up period. I enjoyed working as part of the team and I also enjoyed my experience of working in the middle east.
Cisco CCNA Routing and Switching with BTEC Level 3 Diploma for ICT Practitioners. During this course I have gained experience working with the many protocols involved in switching and routing, and many of the tools that are used in a network environment. I have experience with: Networking Operating Systems, Protocols, OSI & TCP/IP Models, Subnets, Switching, VLANs, Routing (Inter VLAN, Dynamic & Static), OSPF, ACL, DHCP, IPv4 & IPv6 and much more.
Cisco CCNA Discovery 1: Networking for Home and Small Business with BTEC Level 2 Diploma September 2012 — July 2013 Cisco CCNA Discovery 1: Networking for Home and Small Business. I also gained a BTEC Level 2 Diploma for ICT practitioners along-side. In my final exam I scored 91% I gained a lot of experience working with Cisco routers and switches during my course, which I feel is valuable and easily transferable into a working environment.
