Served as a senior management team member of the USAID/Ethiopia funded Engineering Services and Construction Oversight (ESCO) team. Helped monitor and review construction plans, specifications, budgets, and reports for 18 health center facilities around the country. Supported HR, administration, procurement, and logistic functions in the Addis Ababa office to make sure that project operations were functioning efficiently and correctly. Oversaw a team of engineers that reviewed and monitored different WASH projects throughout the country. Managed over 25 engineers and support staff members to ensure that project activities were completed correctly and on time. Cultivated constructive relationships between contractors, USAID staff, and home office staff to ensure that all parties were current on all situations in country. Promoted learning and capacity building for local staff and contractors.
As part of the Education & Empowerment unit of the Civil Society & Education group, I
managed several projects and participated in new business. I oversaw the $5.9 million Feed the
Future Bangladesh Women’s Empowerment Activity (WEA) and the Department of Labor’s
$4.5 million Mobilizing Community Action and Promoting Opportunities for Youth in Ghana’s
Cocoa Growing Communities (MOCA) programs. I managed over 25 field staff and worked to
resolve any and all problems that arose. Served as a liaison between the field staff and
headquarters’ operational staff on a day-to-day basis. I also served as the point of contact for
donor staff at USAID and USDOL for any issues relating to the projects. I maintained M&E
systems and information for tracking donor requirements and project deliverables. I managed the
budget, reporting, and financial planning. I also drafted subawards/subcontracts and other legal
documents that pertained to project activities. I conducted research and helped with proposal
development for new business opportunities. I helped write and compile past performance
reviews, CVs, and other proposal components.
As a member of the senior management team, I helped lead IRD's monitoring and evaluation
(M&E) efforts on a World Bank program that monitored infrastructure projects as part of the
Afghanistan Reconstruction Trust Fund (ARTF). I provided budgeting and financial planning
support. Oversaw and managed a team of engineers and community monitors who reported on
infrastructure projects around the country, including schools, and canals. I reviewed reports and
inspections and performed QA/QC checks to ensure that the projects were completed efficiently
and safely. I helped write and review reports and worked with different Afghan Ministries to
ensure that all projects were feasible. Conducted meetings and trainings with ministry staff on
data collection and data management processes. Represented IRD at meetings and workshops and
developed reports.
Helped manage and conduct activities relating to two infrastructure projects in Afghanistan.
Liaised between the field offices and the home office staff to ensure the field had all resources
needed to complete project activities. Reviewed field reports for technical and grammar
correctness before submitting to donors. Conducted trips to the field to work with field and local
staff and conduct trainings. Developed forms for our in-house data collection platform, as well as
created the templates for the generated reports. Continually maintained much of the data that was
collected from the field and ensure that it is correctly stored. Helped organize and file reports and
information from the field for records. Supported the field GIS teams by reviewing and creating
maps. Conducted business development research and wrote proposals, as well as wrote other
technical reports.
Developed and analyzed natural resource change maps with GIS software. Archived, cleaned,
and organized field data. Reviewed and edited field reports to be submitted to donor agencies.
Researched and helped write new project proposals in line with industry standards and
regulations. Procured equipment and items needed for field offices. Researched and conducted
interviews with potential subcontractors abroad.
Researched, developed, and wrote portions of the newest proposed version of the Climate
Action Plan for the County of Napa. Organized, planned, and proctored community outreach
events for the Climate Action Plan. Developed a “best practices” report for reducing greenhouse
gas emissions in the transportation sector of California. Monitored and evaluated projects on their
CEQA compliance. Reviewed and processed project plans in accordance to local floodplain and
seismic regulations. Updated local county maps in ArcGIS for use with local planning projects.
Prepared and gave presentations to County Board of Supervisors.
Served as the buildings operations manager and ensured that the building was fully operational at
all times. Helped guests to and from their rooms and made reservations for guests when they
needed to conduct additional meetings. Worked to develop a streamline and effective evacuation
and safety plan during times of disaster and distress on campus. Served as the point of contact for
emergency services when there were issues in the building. Interviewed, hired, and trained new
team members to be successful building managers.

Technology: ArcGIS - designing and managing solutions through map-making software;
ENVI - remote sensing software used to process and analyze geospatial imagery;
Developed and implemented English curriculum for K-12 students in a school in Ecuador. Taught
English classes for the Fall semester. Worked in a local orphanage in the afternoons with disabled
children. Worked with the “Tias” who ran the orphanage so they could better communicate with
future volunteers. Helped translate documents to English for the school and orphanage.
Coordinated, planned, and administered after school programs for “Youth-4-Youth” based
mentoring programs in Napa, American Canyon, St. Helena, and Calistoga. Conducted
community outreach events to recruit new volunteers as well as youth for the traditional mentor
and mentee program. Interviewed and conducted background checks on potential volunteers.
Helped with basic office work such as writing evaluations, data input, and answering phone
inquiries. Successfully researched and wrote grants as part of business development to continue
funding for future years.
