As one of the largest real estate and business ecosystem developers in Dubai, TECOM Group is responsible for the development and management of business communities such as Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City, Dubai Design Distract and Emirates Towers District. Their business encompasses everything from the development of the infrastructure to the issuing of business licenses and visas to those tenants occupying the properties.
Main duties and achievements:
• Worked hand in hand with the Director of the Corporate Project Management Office and Change Management to establish the first enterprise level Project Management Office (EPMO) as an effective strategy implementation tool for the Group CEO. Among other things, this involved developing and embedding all governance policies and processes throughout the organization on all levels, supporting and advancing all functional level PMOs and project managers to ensure alignment and consistency.
• The management of an initiative to automate reporting across the Group to enable advanced analytics for data lead decision making. This involved the coordination of many parties including CXOs and MDs of various business units, the management of multiple consultants, vendors, a steering committee and functional team. The result was the establishment of a business intelligence team with the selection of Microsoft Power BI as the most suitable tool.
• The collection, analysis and quarterly reporting on all strategic initiatives listed on the Group's Balanced Scorecard ensuring a link between strategy development and execution. This required an in dept understanding of all strategic goals and liaising with many project and business managers across the group to collate data for analysis, making suggestions on actions to be taken and status reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer and Group CEO.

Main duties:
• The management of a variety of business projects across our portfolio of subsidiaries in a broad range of industries. This could be assessing feasibility, business planning, construction, development, marketing, and expansion in different stages of new ventures or assessing, developing, and implementing new solutions or marketing and sales projects for existing subsidiaries or new products. I took responsibility for challenging projects in both our existing companies and our new ventures to lead them through untested, unusual markets and situations with agility and a strong will to succeed.
• The development of new skills, capabilities and tools across the group and the implementation of best practices into business as usual for sustained improvements. Bringing the capabilities, expertise and tools available in the group headquarters together for subsidiary managers while bridging the gap between group and business strategies and execution to help ensure efficiency in reaching desired results.
• Managing and influencing stakeholder expectations both internally and externally, including regular communication and liaising with government agencies and reporting to the directors, company chairman, CFO and CEO.
• Overseeing quality control throughout the project lifecycles with teams and external contractors at various locations. Active value and risk management of projects through decisive actions and collaboration or influence. Maintaining detailed logs to monitor evaluate and mitigate against risks while enabling continuous learning and improvement for the organization.

Achievements:

• Managing a project for the delivery of two Seahorse Floating Homes at the World Islands in Dubai.
• Managing the launch of the region’s first luxury sport fisher designed and built in Dubai for the GCC at the Dubai International Boat Show 2016. This activation launched this manufacturing business and generated hundreds of leads for the sales team involved.
• Successfully negotiating with Dubai Municipality to allow the development of a family café and edutainment concept with activity areas in city parks.
• Leading the design team for an elite Equestrian Centre for a luxury sports club in Dubai.
• Leading the establishment of an online global horse-trading platform.
• Leading the development and management of the region’s first psychological counselling centre focused on the inclusion of animals as a therapeutic medium for those with special needs. Pilot programmes were led in many schools and centres across Dubai and Sharjah and significant improvements were made in peoples’ lives.

This role enabled me to combine my education, business and construction knowledge to develop a truly unique enterprise from its very beginning. I oversaw every aspect of the business from initial research, construction, veterinary care and maintenance work to marketing, large events, sales and PR. Building this sizable centre that became a household name within the Emirates is a great source of personal pride.
Main duties and achievements:
• Developing the concept and launching this thirty-acre family friendly farm and educational activities centre with sports facilities, 600 domestic and exotic animals, creative studios for pottery, art, dance, and cooking, a therapy centre, equestrian centre, and fruit and vegetable gardens,
• Developing, implementing, administering and improving daily procedures, operations and processes. Creating and managing financial budgets and controlling expenditure. Understanding strategy, business functions, decision-making and workflow. Branding, advertising, marketing, sales and business development. Attracting, retaining, motivating, coaching and developing team members to enable high performance of a diverse team.

• Increasing revenue by 225% in the second year of operations with expenditure only increasing by 21%. This was achieved through the expansion of service offerings, a customer centric approach and successful marketing and sales campaigns coupled with organic growth.
• Leading a procurement process improvement with associated custom software development that enabled better controls and an associated 17% annual saving for the business.
• Managing large and successful bi-annual events that grew each time in both attendance and revenue generated.
