The AV-ELV Technician operates, maintains and repairs all hardware/electronic elements of the lowand extra low voltage systems such as those used for communication, information storage, audio/visual, media, building automation and lighting controls, security systems, and fire-life-safety forthe hotel. He will be responsible for the completion of other services or duties as requested by theAssistant Chief Engineer.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Your primary duties and responsibilites are as follows but not limited to:

Able to operates, maintains and repairs all AV-ELV related equipment
•
Ensures the optimum performance of all AV-ELV related equipment by effectively
•
Following the preventive maintenance and the shift readings programs
•
Evaluates and appropriately responds to equipment usage and energy efficiency
•
Completes all work orders with due diligence

Plans, assigns, schedules, and supervises the work of power linesmen, electricians, and helpers engaged in the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of university power lines, electrical systems, fixtures, apparatus, and appliances; participates in the more difficult work.

Trains and instructs subordinates on detailed procedures.

Conducts periodic inspections and gives on-site supervision over hazardous or unusual work assignments; assures availability of equipment, materials, and supplies.

Estimates the time and material costs required for projected jobs; keeps cost and job records and submits reports; initiates requisitions for supplies, tools, and equipment.

Confers with university department officials and makes recommendations on proposed projects.

Supervises the operation of the electrical repair shop.

Enforces safety regulations, rules, and working conditions.

Recruits and trains personnel in the safe operation of equipment and tools.

The Electrical Technician operates, maintains and repairs all medium (MV) and low voltage (LV)components; distribution systems; and major electrical consumption equipment for the hotel. He willbe responsible for the completion of other services or duties as requested by the Assistant ChiefEngineer.

Electrical Instrumentation Technician I:

Read and interpret analog equipment schematics, analog system network diagrams, plans, blueprints, and electrical wiring diagrams.
Read and interpret recording charts, gauges, and other instruments.
Learn the operation of special purpose scientific measuring devices and correct malfunctions and sources of error.
Work with hand tools and test instruments.
Work and communicate with operations and maintenance personnel.
Keep records.
Present data.
Prepare reports.
Respond to emergency call.
Work while standing on a ladder.
Stand on a platform elevated over twenty (20) feet above ground.
Lift 50 pounds of objects.
Work outside under all weather conditions.
Work in heavy traffic.
Distinguish colors used in electric wiring color-coding.
Set priorities and meet deadlines.
