I have been teaching English as a second language for many years. I started teaching in Hungary in 1994 and progressed through several countries, Thailand, Saudi Arabia and since 2008, the UAE.
Here, I have taught a huge range of levels, ages and skills. Working as part of the University Foundation Programme, I am involved in attempting to raise the standard of the students' English in order for them to be able to study their faculty subjects. Students must currently exit the foundation year with an IELTS band 5.
In addition to the above, I have been heavily involved in materials creation. My particular interest and current specialty is creating level and vocabulary appropriate Reading material for our Level 1 students. This includes researching and editing material in order for it to satisfy the needs of the students and in order to function within the clear guidelines of the Level 1 specs. As part of this work, I have also been heavily involved in the process of preparing exams for our Level 1 students.
