Hobbies

  • Art, Languages, Sports, Religious Studies
State champion in swimming for backstroke. I'm excellent at billiards, namely 'pool.' I participated in a committee that advised Vatican officials to restore the ancient liturgy or so-called "Tridentine" Mass as it had been relatively unchanged since Apostolic times until approximately 1962 AD. We argued that Pius V established the rite as a permanent and dogmatic normative ritual [Quo primum].
  • PEOPLE WATCHING
You learn so much about the world when you surround yourself with people. I mean to say, people of all colors, sizes, religions, and habits that may or may not differ from your own. I love to be in a place where I can learn from difference - because it is a lovely thing to learn from what is the same...but what is different makes visible precisely that "bell curve" so characteristic of 'sameness'.
  • Arab Art
I am interested in Arab art, whether Islamic or Christian. I also specialize in drawing the human body and also flowers.
  • Philosophy
I'm writing a book now...and I've completed three books so far in three years time. I'm currently writing a personal memoir of my pedagogical approach to sharing methods of painting and sculpting clay/ceramics so that these artforms act as a healing exercise that restore a sense of purpose to those who live in despair. I'm also currently translating the Rituale Romanum (1962) from Latin to Arabic.
