• Monitoring the debtor balances of customers and ensure there are no delinquent customers.
• Chasing debt by telephone and email and reducing debtor day
• Play a vital role in the cash-flow of the organisation ensuring credit given to customers is monitored and controlled effectively.
• Allocating payments in accordance with customer remittances.
• Processing and generating reminder letters and monthly statements
• Liaising with the sales and accounts receivable teams to resolve outstanding queries.
• Reporting to Finance manager on monthly basis on outstanding accounts.
• Ensuring that all major accounts work to agreed order to cash cycle.
• Managing relationships with the clients in order to reduce exposure to potential bad debt.
• Co-ordination with sales team for matching and clearing of invoices.
• Investigating and resolving queries relating to non payment of invoices.
• Working to strict monthly and annually collections targets.
• Posting journal entries, performing reconciliations and rectify the errors.
• Monitoring and ensuring all jobs are closed on time.
Accounts Receivable review
• Overseeing the effective collection of company debt. Leading and motivating the credit and collection team in order to achieve collections targets.
• Ensure accounts receivable of all business units is updated correctly at all times and customers receive accurate statement of accounts.
• Periodical reconciliation of AR balances to match with customer’s records to identify issues if any and trigger resolution to enable timely settlement of dues.
• Month-end journal entries.
Credit evaluation
• Evaluate credit requests from the business units and provide recommendation to ensure appropriate credit limits are granted as per set risk parameters
• Implement a periodical credit review process for all customers to identify risk exposure and corrective mitigation process in place.
Review of KPI’s
• Review and provide MIS reports on receivables by division/customer. Identify areas of concern.
• Work with Finance Manager and Deputy General Manager on mitigating risks.
• Develop collection strategy and action plan and ensure that they are carried out.
• Ensure reduction of overdue %age.
Reporting
• Reporting to the financial controller on a monthly basis on outstanding accounts
• Develop and maintain AR operating control reports / KPI to support business team for timely collection
• Develop dashboard for all credit control areas to provide early warning signals to the business management team for an effective debt management
• Monthly reporting of the Key Performance Indicators of the team.
