• Performs fire-fighting inspections on fire sprinkler, fire alarm & detection, and fire pump systems as per NFPA & IBC standards and approved drawings by Royal Commission
• Conducts safety inspections on all projects inside the Royal Commission
• Writes EHS inspection reports for submission to Royal Commission Project Management
• Monitors contractors’ adherence to safety standards on site
• Attends EHS progress meetings
• Serves as the field point of contact for monitoring and maintaining compliance with Contractors' policies and plans
• Carries out daily visual inspections to identify hazards, reports issues to the management thru project reporting system and provides HSE advises on what risk reduction measures to reduce risk to ALARP
• Attends/chairs site SH&E meetings
• Checks HS&E requirements in method statements, risk assessments and permit to work procedures submitted by the Contractor
• Verifies that all agreed HS&E standards and applicable HS&E regulations are observed
• Inspects site to ensure security, fire, first aid and welfare facilities and procedures appropriate to the works are provided and adequately maintained
• Promotes waste management program for collection, storage, transportation and disposal of various types of wastes
• Conducts regular HSE Audits and Inspections to ensure the effectiveness of the HSE programs and procedures at different locations and recommends for improvement and follow up
• Participates in HAZIDS, JSA's, SIMOPS and Risk Assessments for the projects
• Assists in the investigation of incidents and dangerous occurrences, reports in accordance with the Client requirements and procedures
• Other duties as designated by line manager
• Sets a high personal example of Health & Safety at all times
• Supports the HSE Manager in providing operational and functional control on the prevention of worksite accidents and ill health
• Assists HSE Manager in preparing and developing the HSE Management Plan / Construction Phase Plan (CPP) / Environment Management Plan (EMP) in compliance with the international standards like ISO 14001/OSHA18001 and other local and project requirements
• Creates an understanding within the company of the HSE Policy and Procedures and statutory requirements as these affect the framework of operations
• Coordinates and participates in the provision of Company HSE safety and awareness campaigns
• Provides advice to management on obtaining legal consents, licenses and exemptions such as discharge consents, abstraction licenses and waste management licenses
• Conducts HSE audits and inspections to confirm the effectiveness of HSE programs on critical operations / equipment and procedures at worksite; presents recommendations for improvement; and follows-up their implementation
• When directed, assist with the preparation of SHE risk assessments and Method Statements, Work Package Plans (WPPs) and Task Briefing Sheets (TBS)
• Contributes to the preparation and implementation of HSE training courses like Safe Working at Heights, Control of Hazardous Energy, PTWs, Confined Space, Excavation and Trenching, Hearing Conservation, Scaffolding and Forklift Safety, Slips, Trips and Falls, Dropped Objects, Material Handling, Good Housekeeping, etc.
• Actively promotes the company campaigns on implementation of best practice principles across the business, to include stakeholders
• Sets standards and leads by example in the management of HSE
• Updates trainings to upgrade personal level of knowledge and competency in relation to HSE management and responsibilities
• Seeks appropriate qualification and professional membership and obtains competency cards in line with company Competence Card Compliance policy
• Supervises installation of communications equipment, such as intercommunication systems and related apparatus, using schematic diagrams, testing devices, and hand tools
• Analyzes equipment operation, using testing devices to locate and diagnose nature of malfunction and required repairs
• Disassembles components and replaces, cleans, adjusts and repairs parts, wires, switches, relays, circuits, or signaling units, using hand and power tools
• Helps build a positive and effective safety culture where safety is company’s top priority, appropriate trainings are provided to the employees, and getting workers involved and invested in a workplace where everyone is held accountable
