Project: KING ABDULLAH INTERNATIONAL GARDENS

 King Abdullah International Gardens, Riyadh Saudi Arabia. A 210 hectares’ project in Riyadh which includes a main building designed in the shape of two huge overlapping crescents, which will comprise a botanical museum, water parks, and scientific parks. Seven botanical gardens will be developed within King Abdullah International Gardens, which will also comprise restaurants, viewing towers, a banquet hall, and parking space for 5, 000 cars.
Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Review material approval request and document submittals.
2. Review quality and material test reports.
3. Review and implementing of ITP & method of statement.
4. Review concrete and asphalt mix design.
5. Formulate job mix formula for aggregate subbase, aggregate base course and asphalt pavement.
6. Ensuring compliance of used materials with the project specifications.
7. Issuing nonconformance (NCR) and site instruction (SI) and follow up to make sure the contractor compliance with required corrective action according to specification and contract requirements.
8. Ensuring inspection and checking of all delivered materials to site for conformance to the project requirements and approval.
9. Participating in the quality control of materials including all the laboratory and field testing, acceptance of used materials, checking and accepting all remedial and corrective measures.
10. Supervising contractor’s laboratory and batching plants trial mixes.
11. Supervising, participating and directing sampling and testing of all materials according to the contract and the specifications
12. Inspection of concrete, asphalt and earthwork quality as project specification requirements and standards including sampling and laboratory testing.
13. Checking Laboratory Test Results submitted by the Independent Third Party Laboratory if materials meet the project specification requirements for soil, concrete and asphalt.
14. Analyzing the test results in a timely manner and recommending action to the Senior Resident Engineer
15. Maintaining records of test results and all corrective actions taken.
16. Tracking and reviewing the site testing and certificates of compliance.
17. Conduct all work activities in a safe and environmentally responsible mineral all times by not taking on any task(s) that are received as unsafe. Complies with the HSE management system and reports all incidents and near misses to the supervisor or HSE representative.

1. Inspection of concrete, asphalt and earthworks quality as project specification requirements and standards including sampling and witness laboratory testing.
2. Inspection of Stock piles and take samples for General backfilling material, Sub - grade material, Aggregate Base Course material and Concrete aggregates and send it to Independent Third Party Laboratory for testing.
3. Witness laboratory testing of aggregates/ materials to ensure proper procedure of test is observed.
4. Check Laboratory Test Results submitted by the Independent Third Party Laboratory if materials meet the project specification requirements.
5. Conduct inspection for field density test of backfilling, sub - grade and base course material by nuclear gauge and sand cone method base on the proctor and optimum moisture content from the laboratory test results.
6. Conduct inspection for field density test of sand bedding of pipes, settlement test for filter material and check elevation prior to testing.
7. Surveillance of backfilling if required depth and approved material is being used.
8. Inspect concreting works at concrete including quantity and quality of aggregates, cement, water and admixtures and temperature to ensure that it reach the compressive strength design.
9. Attend witness and hold points identified in the concrete quality, checking slumps, temperature, delivery times, kind of mix and if concrete are poured within the allotted time.
10. Observe asphalt batching plant operation to see the correct weights and proportions of aggregates are obtained including asphalt content in accordance to the to the applied approved asphalt mix design.
