• Effectively contributed to the implementation and control of resources (regular programme and Extra- budgetary funds) serving the implementation of the Education Programme in 2014-15.
• Contributed to the formulation of the UNESCO upstream policy support provided to the TVET sector in Egypt in 2015 which attracted additional resources to Cairo Office in 2015 (300% increase in resources) and the subsequent biennium (200% increase in resources)
• Served as a focal point for the implementation of the UNESCO Upstream Policy Support and helped the education team to achieve an implementation rate reaching 100%.
• Organized consultation meetings with Senior officials, as well as, inter- agency coordination meetings with the line ministries, UN agencies and Donors.
• Reviewed technical papers and reports, formulated key reform priorities of the TVET sector and designed capacity development programmes for teachers and managers.
• Contributed to the monitoring of the education programme projects and activities by preparing, reviewing, verifying and analyzing work-plans, progress reports, final reports and other data and preparing and submitting recommendations to the Director for remedial action where necessary.
• Contributed creative ideas for programme/ projects and drafted projects and budget proposals, country development frameworks (UNDAF) and strategy papers, objectives, project reviews and evaluation.
• Designed UNESCO interventions in the areas of sector-wide policies and planning in the framework of the Education 2030 Agenda and girls and women literacy.

• Pinpointed capacity gaps in rural infrastructure planning and management, as well as, private sector participation and highlighted the best practices in the region.
• Formulated recommendations that were presented at the 10th CAADP-PP to inform the discussions of the working group on Trade, Rural Infrastructure and Markets, as well as, the Joint Ministerial Conference on Rural Infrastructure held in 2014.

- Contributed to the development of the organization's flagship entrepreneurial curriculum used in the African region and contextualized it for the ecotourism sector in Egypt using a gender-sensitive lens.
(The NGO stopped its operations in Egypt in early 2012 due to political instability).
• Drafted project proposals and liaised with donors, resulting in instigating a project portfolio worth $US 50 million.
• Consistently provided support to Senior Officials in multilateral negotiations and preparation work of the UNFCCC, RIO + 20 and WTO on matters relating to economic and environmental policies.
• Drafted policy papers on areas of interface between economic and environmental policy such as trade & climate change, trade liberalization of environmental goods & services, industrial waste management, innovation and creative industries, transition to the green economy, etc..
• Provided advisory services to the Union for the Mediterranean Presidency (UfM) in the area of Depollution of the Mediterranean and sustainable urban development.
• Served as the focal point in technical coordination between Egyptian line Ministries, European institutions and donors to prepare complex infrastructure projects for the UFM Secretariat
• Formulated the first program on export-driven creative industries and entrepreneurship in Egypt that came as a result of a policy dialogue with key players in the sector, as well as concerned Donor Agencies, USAID in particular.
• Led the final evaluation of phase I of the JICA-funded project of the Kaizen Center, that resulted in sharpening the focus of phase II on Small & Medium Enterprises.
• Pioneered the first in-house daily press review focused on Arab-Italian relations that was disseminated to the Council of Arab Ambassadors in Italy.
• Analyzed the trends of the Italian and European media covering Arab States, and followed- up on key questions of political, economic and cultural interest.
• Deputized for Head of Mission in UN meetings (FAO - WFP - IFAD).
(The position of research Fellow at the Universite Libre de Bruxelles was part of student exchange program of the European PhD in Socio-Economics and Statistical Studies)
• Analyzed sustainable tourism initiatives in the Euro-Mediterranean region.
• Identified the benchmarks of ecotourism in the Euro-Mediterranean region.
• Conducted a research seminar on the gaps between economic, social and ecological indicators of sustainable tourism.
The Acacia Operation Project pilot phase was implemented in Kenya by AGRFOR funded by the UN /Food and Agricultural Organization.
The Evaluation Mission of the pilot phase took place in September 2015 and resulted in the formulation of the full fledged project for the African Network of Gums and Raisins producing Countries (NGARA).
• Spearheaded the team of national socio-economic experts in conducting the evaluation.
• Identified the socioeconomic impacts of the pilot phase.
• Drafted the post-pilot project proposal for Kenya, as well as, the regional program for the
NGARA network (Network of Gums and Raisins Producing Countries in Africa) in
collaboration with a team of international consultants.
• Developed an economic forecasting model to calculate the viability of the FAO/AOP under
different climatic scenarios. The model was adopted and used by the NGARA to guide project implementation in the post-pilot phases.
• Designed a survey questionnaire to assess readiness and potentials for ecotourism development in protected areas.
• Analyzed the data obtained from the Member States and drafted an analytical study entitled “Diagnosis of Ecotourism in the Arab Region”.
• The study delineated the status of Ecotourism in the region, its potentials and challenges to guide further decision-making.
• Organized a workshop on “The Arab Vision of Ecotourism in the Biosphere Reserves” on behalf of UNESCO Cairo Office and in cooperation with the UNEP/ROWA.
• Drafted proposed interventions for the Cairo Air Improvement Project presented to the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency.
• Formulated the financial proposals and sensitivity analysis for various projects.
• Provided overall supervision and coordination of the technical proposal writing team.

• Managed a credit portfolio worth US$ 98 million achieving a 10 % increase in earnings despite the foreign exchange crisis in 1999.

Dissertation thesis relied on environmental economics to assess impact of businesses and economic activities on the social, economic and environmental development of societies. The Dissertation thesis focused on “The Index of Sustainable Ecotourism Impacts: the case of Wadi El Gemal National Park in Egypt”.
The Masters Degree studies focused on International Development, Strategic Management and Planning, Project Management and Evaluation , and selected topics in Development (Health, Migration, etc..)
