• Project Manager. Drafted and refined proposal for the Pharmaceutical Security Institute, a formal anti-counterfeiting intelligence exchange centre for the top 20 research-based pharmaceutical companies. Wrote and co-ordinated implementation of the Institute.
• Set up, maintained and ran, search and relational databases, using ZyIndex and customized Access programs, relating to counterfeiting and illegal diversion in the pharmaceutical industry. Analysed data obtained from sources, worldwide, including leading pharmaceutical companies.
• Wrote proposals for action investigations in a number of countries. Liaised with private investigators in those countries. Processed suspect samples as they arrived, for despatch to the relevant companies for analysis. Set up and maintained relational database to analyse these results. Responsible for recording analysis results and producing reports to members.
• Set up and administered project-cost accounting procedures.
• Set up chain-of-evidence procedures and administered sample/evidence store.
• Liaised closely with security directors and legal departments of the member companies, as well as with senior officials of national and international enforcement agencies and the World Health Organisation. Organised meetings of member companies of the PSI. Secretary to the Board.
• Worked closely with national and international agencies, including WHO, UK Medicines Control Agency and US Food & Drugs Administration - Office of Criminal Investigations and Interpol.
• Produced PowerPoint presentation materials, briefing papers, reports and recommendations for security directors of pharmaceutical companies. Produced reports for dissemination to relevant authorities on specific cases, including to the US Trade Representative and the European Commission. Produced media-response paper for the PSI.
• Drafted written submissions to the South African and Israeli Governments on the potential dangers of parallel trade and counterfeit products.
