• Manage, train, coach, initiate personnel development plans for all department personnel (45 engineers, supervisors, coordinators).
• Represent the company on HSSE issues at various company, industry and government forums.
• Maintain an interface with the Corporate HSSE through reporting, investigation of incidents, strategic planning, conferences and open communications
• Promote HSSE awareness and develop a HSSE culture, adopt and implement best industry practices
• Provide advices regarding all HSSE aspects of operation of asset, including production operations, maintenance, drilling, wells services and pipeline operations.
• Engage line management and staff to realize zero incident HSSE performance
• Develop, implement, monitor, review and evaluate the effectiveness of Company and local HSSE standards, policies, procedures. HSSE management systems and performance to achieve continuous improvements and meet corporate goals and expectations.
• Prepare annual HSSE plans & objectives with Line Managers
• Ensure compliance with all aspects of the environmental impact assessment
• Implement HSSE Reporting processes as per procedures and company requirements; ensure proper recordkeeping of results in all operations.
• Coordinate development of contingency plans for emergency and critical incidents.
• Keep abreast of all current and developing country and location regulations, codes and key constraints including changes, assess potential impact, develop plans to ensure compliance
• Manage the social aspects with local residents, communities and villages
• Identify HSSE training needs and develop Training Plans and schedules for implementation.
• Conduct and/or Lead Internal & External HSSE MS Audits (company and contractors).
• Advise company employees and assess contractor on safe practices, and unsafe conditions.
• Ensure that operational activities are conducted in a safe manner and in compliance to safe and best industry practices
• Liaise with Clients, Authorities and Local Regulations on HSSE issues.
• Establish written performance standards, goals and objectives and appraise Company and Contractor staff.
• Support, assist Line management, leads incident investigation teams, Root Cause Analysis techniques.
• Ensure investigations and close out of all serious incidents and High Potential incidents
• Liaise with others E&P operators on operational matters such as security, emergency response, community relations and environmental issues
• Monitor process safety performance and advise for improvements

Full management of the drilling rig, 80 to 110 persons, drilling operations for production of oil & gas on Maracaibo Lake (Venezuela) and Rabi / Toucan / Atora fields ( Gabon) .
Clients: PDVSA / Shell / Total / Panafrican.
