Initiating and monitoring proper Oxygen therapy devices
•Performing Capillary and Arterial Puncture and Interpretation as directed by the Physician
•Reading and evaluating Physician’s orders and charting
•Communicating with Physicians and Nurses
•Assisting in patients and department education
•Applying ventilators/therapies to patients and monitoring patient’s response. Modifying therapy/techniques based on clinical and laboratory in consultation with the physician.
•Administering therapeutic gases and aerosolized medications. Performing assorted pulmonary hygiene procedures and assessing the effectiveness of therapy. Interpreting basic ECG tracings and performing and documenting clinical assessment based on knowledge of disease states.
•Calibration and set-up of ventilators BIPAP Vision, Carina, Evita XL, Servo 1 (Maquet), Babylog, Oxylog, Trotter, Pneupac, Sensormedics HFOV, Inovent, Nox Box (Nitric Oxide), Elysee, Galileo Hamilton Ventilaros and SLE Neonatal Ventilatos, monitoring and assessing patient who are in mechanical ventilators including adults, pediatric and neonates.
•Responsible for basic and advance respiratory care services to patients with deficiencies and abnormalities in the cardiopulmonary system.
•Planning and implementing diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care services, emergency services and special procedures in the intensive care units, emergency room and general care ward.
