- The planning of safe work procedures, troubleshooting of equipment failures, analysis of process conditions and their impacts in order recommend improvements for chronic reliability problems.
- The installation, calibration, servicing and maintenance of process measurement and control equipment e.g. pressure, flow, level, weight and temperature transmitters, analysers, actuators, valves, controllers and weigh bridges, the associated variable measurement and indication thereof
- The scheduled inspection and testing of operation on field instrument systems to diagnose faults.
- The maintenance of SCADA, DCS and PLC based process control systems and troubleshooting for I/O link signal.
- The diagnosis, dismantling and repair of electronic, electro-pneumatic, pneumatic and hydraulic instrumentation equipment varying from multichannel dot-matrix recorders, PID controller, digital process indicators, valve positioners, E/P convertors, control valves to pneumatic power cylinders.
- The interpretation, simulation, practical employment and commission of automation schematics.
- The mentoring of junior apprentices and attachees on instrumentation and equipment training.
