Reporting to the Senior Health & Safety Director, responsible for establishing and implementing a fleet & sales safety program across all company owned and franchised operations in Asia, Middle East & Africa
Direct responsibility for the Fleet & Sales safety program to cover 10, 000+ company owned vehicles and 165 distributions points & driver operations across AMEA
Proactively identify, propose and develop corporate systems and policies to effectively manage occupational health and safety risks, opportunities and issues associated with sales and fleet in the AMEA Sector
Build H&S capabilities across AMEA by providing technical assistance to AMEA functions and sector staff as needed in the areas of sales and fleet safety
Collaborate with sales and fleet H&S professionals from other PepsiCo sectors to develop and implement programs and policies that are consistent across sector and regional boundaries
Develop and implement appropriate auditing and assurance processes for sales and fleet safety across AMEA
Align all plans with local, region, sector and corporate Vice President and Senior Director teams
Ensure AMEA Sector $20M US annual budget required for implementation plans are aligned through Annual Operating Plans
Introduce aligned safety KPI tracking into AMEA
Provide year on year improvements in accident & injury performance
Achievements
Developed a fleet safety roadmap for AMEA, to identify critical areas and programs to systematically address high risk fleet and sales operational practices, travelling to each business to align this roadmap with each business
Developed specific fleet safety plans, aligned with each business leader and CFO for each of the 14 country business units in the AMEA sector
Developed Middle East specific defensive driver training programs, delivered across the Middle East in Arabic.
Led the development, pilot and introduction of new safety information systems, across AMEA to streamline data collections and increase ease of analysis
Introduced robust reporting systems in place for all incidents, with cause analysis, and periodic reports through to Vice President and Senior Director teams
Introduced multi language NEBOSH IGC training program for all field based H&S resource, acting as coach to all students
Developed global health & safety standard and audit diagnostics for PepsiCo top risks, to align programs and standards, systematically reducing risk from our operations
Introduced Health & safety councils in each Region and sector to evolve each safety culture in line with locally agreed roadmap
Led the audit and assurance programs for AMEA, partnering with accredited ISO and OSHSAS institutions, to lead certification & capability building

Continued my personal development, by expanding beyond my original role scope, leading Manufacturing Operations Safety agendas across identified significant risks
Led the machinery safety agenda across AMEA Manufacturing Operations, collaborating with engineering and Original Equipment Suppliers to ensure all new equipment is aligned with PepsiCo global Health & safety Standards, and developing internal capabilities to address legacy equipment safety
Reporting to the Northern Logistics Functional Head, responsible for leading the safety and environmental cultures & performance
Direct ownership for 6 DC’s, 24 sales depots, with large amount of UK and international travel as part of the role
Develop safety culture across logistics function, ensuring safety-first standards for all
Provide year on year improvements in accident performance, measuring RIDDOR, LTI, Minor Injury, & Severity rate
As Europe lead safety auditor, act as mentor for all UK and Europe Health & Safety managers

Annual reduction across all injury and accident measures across both logistics and sales functions - PepsiCo Chairman’s award received in 2010 for safety programs and performance in logistics
Achieved ISO 14001 accreditation at all logistics sites
Reporting to the Operations Manager, responsible for all shift activities within the Distribution Centre, facilitating projects across Shift, Warehouse & Region
Manage a team of up to 100 employees and contractors to ensure Shift & Site workload and service objectives are met
Liaise with manufacturing plants across UK & Europe to control workflow to ensure customer demand is met
Manage budgets & control costs for specific capital expenditure projects

Led communications through an outstanding, eventually unsuccessful, trade union recognition vote, and rebuild employee confidence in the management team
Delivered annual savings of $65, 000 US, by renegotiating supplier and operational programs for all Manual handling equipment
Team lead on capacity increase project for the warehouse, early and within agreed budgets, realising $80, 000 in business savings from earlier exit of external storage solutions
