Leadership responsibility for the development and management of the offshore remote Project UZ750-P8451-AUP, a fully operational permanent camp for 2, 150 people located 84 Km northwest of Abu Dhabi in the Upper Zakum offshore oil field development.

Fully accountable for the design, procurement and construction of accommodations, offices, workshops and permanent oil and gas related utilities for four artificial islands for a US$500M contract with Zakum Development Company. Remit includes delivering the works against tight commercial & financial contract criteria, managing the HSE & quality strategies, optimizing resource productivity levels, identifying all required partners & subcontractors and performance managing the KPI’s across large multi-functional project teams.

 Actively participated in the company’s strategy and policy formulation, liaising between the client Zakum Development Company (ZADCO) and its current three major shareholder representatives (Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) - 60% share, ExxonMobil - 28% & Japan Oil Development Company (JODCO) - 12%) as well as, Motts Macdonald consultant, PMC AMEC engineering and project management company, Kentz Engineers & Constructors advisors and other stakeholders.
 Project managed the works associated with the design, procurement, delivery and build successfully controlling all operational aspects, and delivering the construction project on time & within budget.
 Strategically leading overseeing monitoring communicating and managing projects delivery optimizing allocated resources efficiency and performance,

ALSAAD GENERAL CONTRACTING LLC - Leading general contractor specializing in civil & marine works in the GCC & Levant regions with 7, 000 staff delivering building works, heavy civil works for industrial & power plants & marine & dredging works.
Appointed to the Executive Committee and charged with leading and managing a SAR 3 Billion portfolio of multi-sector projects managing delivery through the direct leadership of a large multicultural specialist team of 250 engineers and the management of a wider team of 3500 employees. Responsibilities extended to Civil & Buildings, Marine and Power Plant construction requiring full P&L accountability, stakeholder management and ownership of the business development strategy and subsequent tender submission activity.


 Spearheaded the successful delivery of all Sea Port Authority awarded marine construction projects for the Western & Eastern region of Saudi Arabia including (i) Royal Commission Yanbu Industrial Port Berth 8 to 11, 1200 m long block quay with depth of 18 m, (ii) Container Terminal Duba Port, Berth 3&4, 550 m long quay on pile, with depth of 16 m, and (iii) Container & Ro-Ro Terminal Jubail Commercial Port development including the Berths & Quay area, Wharf, Container quay crane rails, Container Lay Down Area, Container storage yards, Pavements works, Port Security & Customs Facilities, port dredging work for navigational channel tranches and in front of quay wall, land reclamation, the civil & utilities works.
 Reviewed and upgraded existing marine equipment, inherited method statements and construction procedures, upskilled employees, improved communication and implemented a safer working environment, all of which helped to support a more competitive price that enabled the company 6 months later to bid and take equivalent additional overlapping work of Berths 8 and 9 on Dec 2012 in the same Port, to be completed and delivered only 6 months after the completion of previously awarded Berths 10 & 11.
 Recommended improvements and subsequently along with the project’s consultant implemented design changes by installing additional contiguous piles on the seaside of the berth, hence avoiding the costly excavation. The berth can be currently casted on dry land, hence improving the productivity rate and construction cost.
 Delivered the Power Plant Combined-Cycle/ Shoaiba II Combined Cycle 1, 238 MW project in Jeddah, KSA; Project involved the build of a Power Block # 02 for a total developed area of (70, 000 m2) and various Power/ Plant Support Buildings for a total developed area of (30, 000 m2); all of which (including acceleration plan, civil engineering and earth works and industrial) were delivered against the client’s challenging EPC, and ambitious time-schedule.
 Advocated a participative style of management with the aim of inspiring teams and individuals to achieve exceptional results; use an empowering management approach to encourage ideas and team-working at all levels, while demonstrating a consistent, clear, inclusive and fact-based communication style.
 Orchestrated a complete behavioral change on site, consistently delivered on time and developed strong relationships with a very demanding Korean client; all of which resulted in a doubling of the total revenue through a new contract award, the Shoaiba Permanent Housing Complex, an EPC contract of SR 495M.
 Global review of tendering policy, procedures, data based price estimation and cost analysis to mitigate and avoid unprofitable and under estimated rush projects in remote sites.
 Established strong & effective working relationships with the individual Saudi Electricity Rep. Port Managers & Heads of the Port Authority and led commercial negotiations by preparing claims narratives and time impact analyses which led to a 10% uplift in SOWs.
 Participated & awarded several tenders for ARAMCO projects along with the Saudi Port Authority and SEC.

The Council for Development and Reconstruction’s (CDR) partnership with SGHL formed a vital part of Beirut’s ‘St George’s Bay Realized’ vision during the Recovery Decade 1996 to 2006 with SGHL’s role involving the financing & development of new infrastructure, new builds & the rehabilitation of war-torn structures in St George’s Bay New Sea Front & Hotel Districts a Public Private Partnership PPP.
Appointed as the Project Director / Delegated Board Member for Projects Development and tasked with leading and delivering the deconstruction of St Georges Bay, the oldest marina in Beirut, and managing the delivery of its new Sea Front development during the period 1997 to 2000 with further additional accountability later on for leading the development of its tourist complex.

 Acted as SGHL’s primary representative in charge of all aspects of project delivery including finance acquisition, stakeholder management, acquisitions, approvals, design & implementation with an emphasis on managing costs tightly & overcoming the significant & complex challenges borne out of a large consortium of stakeholders with hugely competing interests.
 Assumed Operational role requiring extensive Management Organization capabilities, combined with engineering and construction industry experience & knowledge of the design and build for implementation of Marine Sea Front development, Dredging & Land Reclamation, Breakwater and submerged reef, ports quay on piles and concrete caisson walls as well as all its related access road, underpasses, infrastructure and related utilities with best in class skills and techniques, hands-on approach and attention to details.
 New Business Development; Sound commercial awareness and an acute awareness of the need to maintain revenues and seek out fresh income generation opportunities particularly in austere economic conditions.
 Proven track record attracting new business, including bid management as well as re-negotiating existing contracts and developing innovative partnering arrangements with clients and suppliers to drive continued growth and competitiveness.
 The devastated hotel district from the Lebanese Civil War underwent a thorough reconstruction and development plan that resurrected its cultural and economic positioning in the region & consequently the Saint George Bay Waterfront is now a prime, active, multi-use district with business, residential, tourist & leisure facilities & houses bold architecture, the famous land mark Saint George hotel, its beach club, the west marina & timber deck quayside promenades, extending Beirut's famous seaside boulevard.
 Part of the realized reclaimed land was used as collateral security for a fund raising program and others for dedicated commercial development benefiting from the realized added value of restored prime area.
