Ring Roads and Part of Pan Arab Highway
Client: Ministry of Public Works Beirut Lebanon
Projects as follows:
1. Beirut southern ring road 3 sections total cost (70 million US dollars) 1995-
2001
Works include 4 bridges at 3 interchanges max span 30m and 7 underpasses
max length 500m in reinforced concrete with suitable RC foundations. Retaining
walls max height 12m. Asphalt works, road signing and marking. Sidewalks
including all related street lighting. All underground and infrastructure services:
storm water, sewer lines, telephones and electrical cables. Demolition and
relocation of existing services.

2. Pan Arab highway medeirj section total cost (45 million US dollars) 2001 -
2003.
Works include 2 bridges max length 800m and 70m high in prestress concrete. 2
interchanges including all infrastructures works mentioned above in part 1.
Project started in 1999. Involvement in the project was related to the completion
of precast pre-tensioning decks and finalizing contractor as built drawings
3. Rehabilitation of International Beirut- Damascus road Section 1, 3 Total cost
(24 million US dollars) 2003 with expected completion date 2006.
Works include 6 bridges max span of 32m in prestress concrete and 4
interchanges. Rehabilitation of existing steel bridges and new infrastructure
services as described in part 1

Responsibilities included on site Checking that all works are carried out in
accordance with the contract documents, Determining entitlement to payment,
ensuring safe practices are followed. Advise on contractual and construction
matters specially Structures, roads works and related services such as drainage
sewer and power. Assessment of claims presented by contractors.
Checking/approval program of works presented contractors, submitted shop
drawings and materials. Technical review and approval of detailed contractors shop
drawings related to reinforcements of Retaining walls, pile caps, abutments and
bridge decks. Approval for materials such as reinforcements, concrete and asphalt
mix design, waterproofing etc…. Coordination with concerned authorities on
progress of works and financial matters. Approval of As built drawings.
