Duties:( Around 1, 200 hours of flight)
• Plane and conduct safe flights while adhering to flight plans, regulations & procedures
• Analyze performance level of aircrafts when required
• Handle flight emergencies
• Greet passengers coming on and leaving plane
• Brief cabin crews about flight destinations, duties and responsibilities
• Update logbook with flight schedules, distances, speeds etc.
• Ensure passenger and cargo loads are equally distributed to obtain weight v/s balance
• Select optimum flight speed and route for safe travel
• Supervise flight crew members to ensure safety, comfort and convenience for all passengers
• Communicate with weather department and flight dispatch team
• Communicate with control towers on regular basis for flight information/communicate with ground crews
• Inspect aircraft for defects and malfunctions
• Make announcement to passengers about flight conditions, status etc.
• Monitor functionality and operations of aircraft components during flight
• Act quickly and appropriately to environmental changes and emergencies to ensure passenger safety
Training:
• Boeing 777/300 Pilot Aviation Training, Seattle, USA (15 days)
• Multi crew Co-operation Course (MCC) - Training on communication, coordination and working as part of multi-member flight crew
Duties:
• Planning manoeuvres, assigning duties and communicating effectively with other personnel
• Leading, commanding, training and leading subordinate personnel
• Monitoring the welfare and progress of new recruits
• Operating and maintaining warfare systems, equipment and vehicles
• Taking on specialist duties and skills such as engineering, air traffic control, training and administration
• Producing briefings, reports and presentations
• Distributing equipment, resources and manpower
• Taking responsibility for welfare, morale and motivation of subordinates
• Communicating effectively with your unit, colleagues with other roles and responsibilities, and professional and community groups, both orally and in writing, through briefings, operational reports and presentations
• Training and developing subordinates of all ranks and bringing them to a high state of operational readiness/training new recruits in basic skills
• Identifying objectives and assessing ways of achieving them
• Motivating and leading subordinates to achieve objectives, often in difficult and dangerous conditions
