I am a in house graphic designer at a travel trade company based in London. My role is part graphic design and part web development/ maintenance.
The work involves briefs, creating initial artwork to from the briefs to final presentation of print ready artwork.
● Design and production of e-flyers/ e-blasts, leaflets, quarterly brochures (20-56 page editions)
● Online database management for Southquaytravel.com
● Liaising with printers for quarterly brochure production and promotional material
● management of Southquaytravel.com, Airviceroy.co.uk (business) and Motours.co.uk
● Management of the the Southquaytravel.com mailing database of about 40, 000
● Web development for the group in liaison with an outsources team
I am a regular stringer for Demotix/ Corbis New/ photo agency, as well as Citizenside, Newsmodo and Alamy Stock Images.
The freelance work involves the following
● Photojournalism on freelance basis
● Using social media to promote my photography work
● Seeking news worthy stories for coverage, accreditation request, photography and filing the images via ftp
I also develop my own web portfolio/ presence which involves the following:
● Online database management application, design & integration
● Graphic design for web and print
● Video production of tv (Ben Tv on Sky) and youtube
● Web development (flash & dynamic sites running phpmysql)
Some of my photographic work has been published in the following publications: The Guardian, The New Yorker, Daily Mail, Spiegel Online, Evening Standard, The Week Online, Country Life Magazine, The Nation and The Star (Kenya), The Metro, The Star (Canada), Conde Nast Traveler, Global Voices Online, New African Woman, Svenska Dagbladet, Kristeligt-dagblad and The Sun (UK).
In house graphic designer of a 48 page weekly news magazine. The job included layout, image sourcing to production of print ready pdf files.
Other tasks included:
• Weekly website content update & technical support
• Online content management system for dynamic news website
• Photo archiving and sourcing from photo agencies ie AFP

Studies included traditional illustration methods to adapting this to digital either by scanning or creating them digitally. Use of broadcast camera equipment from filming and introduction to editing in Premiere and Final Cut pro on both avid, windows and macintosh systems. Introduction and use of the creative software namely for illustration and animations ie illustrator, painter, flash, photoshop and quarkexpress
Introduction to the basics of commercial art with emphasis on freehand drawing and other traditional material ie pen and pencil, pastels Posters and cooperate identity creation form concept to final art work as well as exhibition preparation and promotion
