I have over five years of experience of prudential regulation, working for the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) in the Bank of England. During this period I have worked in supervision, lead policy projects and managed authorisation cases. I have experience of regulating various financial services firms, including major FTSE 100 groups, and have a deep understanding of the Solvency II and MIFID II regulations.
During my time at the PRA I have progressed from an associate to a senior manager. I currently manage a team responsible for the supervision of one of the largest financial services firms in the UK. This role involves setting and delivering the supervisory strategy and managing the relationship with the firm, including key executives such as the CEO, CFO and CRO.
Preparing oral and written briefing for MPs in advance of hearings on a range of topics including: the Budget, the performance of HM Treasury, PFI and the LIBOR inquiry.
•Preparing written reports for publication following hearings, including reports on the Budget, PFI and the Money Advice Service.
Value for Money and Financial Audit
•Specialist in value for money/ performance audit, carrying out assessments of the economy, efficiency and effectiveness of Government expenditure programmes.
•Progressed from initialling being a team member on projects to planning and leading teams, managing client liaison and delivering overall pieces of work to deadlines.
•Worked on reviews looking at governance, performance management, programme and project management (including experience of PRINCE 2), process management (including experience of LEAN), risk management and benefits realisation.
•Experience of carrying out financial audits on a broad range of public sector bodies with budgets ranging from less than £2m to over £30bn, including: Jobcentre Plus, the Department for Education, Ofsted and the National Insurance Fund.
Chartered accountancy qualification. All exams first time passes.
