Leading the procurementteam ofJones the Grocer - from Dubai HQ and reporting to Chief Financial Officer Responsibilities:
•Responsible for managing Procurement and Warehousing for all 27 restaurants/outlets across UAE.
•Source and import exceptional ingredients and unique gourmet products to our chefs in our UAE restaurants. Oils, sauces, cereals, concentrates, honeys, syrups, nuts, olives, spices, spreads, truffles, vinegars must all come from different countries and all kinds of varieties and qualities must also be available. Our retail gourmet store has about 700 stock keeping units, or SKUs.
•Develop purchasing strategies and oversee the purchasing team in their daily activities of sourcing suppliers and purchasing products, equipment, and services.
•Manage warehouse staff, vehicles and other equipment, and oversee security, sanitation, and administrative functions.
•Accurate Reporting, coordinate with operations and retail the sales and planning process including supply /demand forecasting, inventory management, and on time delivery.
•Pricing Review, monitor and analyze current trends in the marketplace, monitor usage, overstocking and aging offood products.
•Work to a purchase budget in association with the Director of Business Operations, Retail Manager, Development Chef and conscious of costs and any loss Achievements:
•Optimized the Transport and Logistic Processes for the imports from Australia, New Zealand and Europe by partnering with a single logistics partner with operations across Europe, Australia and MENA regions.
•Negotiated and developed a 4PL partnership proposal. 4PL may be considered as a supply chain.
•Successfully registered company with Dubai Municipality, Dubai Trade for smooth import and export operations from Dubai seaport (Jebel Ali) and Dubai Airports (DXB & DWC). Also registered food products in the online portal of Dubai Municipality.
•Negotiation and contract: Able to close deal with VOSS waters supply to all outlets at a very competitive rate and trade investment deal. Closed deal with local traders with strong negotiation ofthe seafood and meat category at a competitive price with no price change deal up to next 6 months.
•Sourcing unique and new gourmet product brands and importing to UAE for retail example truffle products from Italy, olive oils and olives from Australia (brand Mount Zero), gourmet range of Cordials and Sodas from Australia (brand PS organic), jams and specialty spices from South Africa (brand Belo's), specialty cooking paste and sauces from UK (brands NOJO & Halen Môn), Organic range of Soups and jellies from UK (Just whole foods), Organic chocolate range etc.
•Successfully coordinated for launch of our private labelled gourmet ice cream range in UAE.
