Monitor all Commercial Information in relation to project.
Subcontract administration and management with emphasis on Time, Cost and Quality in order to achieve overall project requirements.
Scrutinizing quotations, performing subcontract comparisons and evaluations to enable subcontract awards.
Preparation of scope of works and interface responsibility matrix for the Subcontract Packages.
Preparation of Contractual Documents for the purpose of Subcontract Agreements.
Preparation and Assistance for generating Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR).
Preparation of Variation Orders and Site Instructions to the Subcontractor.
Timely Submission of Payment Applications to manage project cash flow.
Valuation and Certification of Subcontractor Payment Applications.
Facilitate the contract close-out procedures to ensure that all terms, conditions of contracts have been followed, prior to final payment to sub-contractor.
Reviewing and identifying variation against the Main Contract and preparation of Variation Request/Claim against Main Contract to the client/consultant.
Review/respond to contractual/commercial correspondences and provide assistance to Project Team on related issues.
Quantification and re-measure as per Standard methods of measurement.
Define more cost-efficient alternatives to the proposed scope of project as part of Value Engineering.
Review of proposed V.E. savings to ensure incorporation in the design or cost recovery, whichever applicable.
Update all relevant information to the Commercial Manager and project team for review, at specified intervals.
Assist Commercial Manager with a range of other duties as may be required from time to time.
Evaluation and review of bid documents, specifications, scope of works and drawings, for tendering.
Identifying queries from tender documents (RFI) and obtaining necessary clarifications.
Review of project - Conditions of contract, contract documents, specifications, Bill of Quantity and
related drawings.
Project quantity take off and verification of the Bill of Quantities for civil works.
Preparation of subcontractor package after studying the specifications & drawings.
Prepare procurement schedules for the project, in consultation with the project team.
Float enquires, collect quotations, review against all technical aspects, and prepare comparisons to finalize list of subcontractors to the project.
Prepare & check draft of agreements & LOI for sub-contractors, coordinating with contracts department to properly format the contract document.
Certification of Sub-Contractor’s payment applications.
Identify variations due to change in design from the original tender drawings and preparation of variation orders with proper support documents in order to get approval from the consultant/client. Update the data for variations and claims to the concerned project teams.
Responsible to inspect, verify and process variations for sub-contractors.
Cost controlling by evaluating the construction methods to determine cost effectiveness of plans and controlling the excess material delivered to site through proper tracking of materials.
Prepare material request as per site requirement, furnish documentations such as specifications, drawings etc. and coordinate with Procurement department.
Advice the project team on contractual implications as encountered and provide advise accordingly.
Liaise and communicate with the project team and subcontractors to ensure necessary information/data are supplied promptly.

Enrolled to the firm as an apprentice & later moved into the Trainee QS role. During the course, tasks such as site measurement, payment applications & variations of several running projects were carried out.
