Act as client (Aramco) representative on various projects enforcing client requirements
Approval of contractor safety personnel
Approval of contract HSE deliverables including CSSP, HIP, JSA’s and ERP
Conduct regular site inspections to verify contractor compliance to client requirements
Attend safety and project meetings
Provide advice and consultation to departmental personnel
Develop training content and facilitate awareness trainings e.g. safety orientations
Compile weekly/monthly reports on contractor compliance

Planning and Execution
• Translate and execute the business SHE gameplan in line with the One Sasol SHE Excellence Approach
• Provide input into the business SHE Game Plan to ensure that it addresses area-specific SHE issues and risk profiles
• Support business in establishing and tracking of business Safety objectives and targets
• Facilitate the implementation of area-specific Safety Improvement initiatives and strategies and evaluate effectiveness thereof
• Plan and execute shutdown safety plans
SHE Risk Assessment and Management
• Facilitate the identification of safety hazards, risks, key undesirable events and implement the associated Group controls and business specific preventive and corrective controls in accordance with the SHE risk-based approach
• Enable the implementation of SHE risk management controls within the business through effective utilization of Occupational Safety specialist resources
• Manage the Safety non-conformance process including incident investigation, near misses, root-cause analysis and identification of corrective actions
• Advise and enable the business to gain insight into the efficacy and adequacy of its SHE risk management
Systems, processes and technology
• Implement relevant SHE systems and requirements to support effective controls for safe operation, aligned with the business asset management strategy.
• Facilitate the implementation of the Asset Management business plan
Operational Control
• Manage the process of the continuous identification and correction of workplace hazards through inspection plans and verification assessments
• Develop, test, communicate and improve response plans and procedures to ensure effective mitigation of SHE undesirable events. Eg. emergency response plans
Governance and Compliance
• Actively participate in legal compliance audits or authority inspections to verify SHE legal compliance
• Review and improve Occupational Safety work instructions, safety bulletins and procedures and ensure adherence thereof
• Actively participate in safety audits and provide ongoing assurance of controls
• Report progress on the implementation of the business SHE Game Plan
• Ensure and coordinate the implementation of corrective and preventive actions for safety audit findings and verify effectiveness thereof
Continuous Improvement
• Provide input into area-specific management reviews and execute identified Safety improvement actions for the area.
• Analyse incident and injury results, identify trends and implement improvement and control measures
Change management and communication
• Identify the need for communication and awareness campaigns, and assist in development of themes to be communicated.
