• Maintaining and ensuring that patients are discharged on time and giving them the appropriate documents they need beforehand.
• Cater patients needs and concerns from admission until discharge. Take part in the discharge planning of the patient for a smooth transition either from hospital to home or from critical care unit floor.
• Coordinates with all the hospital staffs and personnel, and thus knows every department within the hospital. Answers patients queries regarding with their health condition (should
be with the doctor's permit), and insurance claims.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Intensive Care Unit/Pediatric ICU
• Hand washing all the time before and after rendering care to the babies.
• Takes initial vital signs and record it on the vital signs monitoring sheet, taking note of those that are above or below limit then monitors patient every 30 minutes or as frequently as needed thereafter and refers to residents on duty for any unusualities noted.
• Monitors and records patient's intake and output taking note its appearance and color.
• Proper positioning to improve patient's airway, breathing, and circulation.
• In case of cardiac arrest. Do immediate nursing intervention, alert physician and assist on cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and intubation.
• Endorses patient's status/condition to the next nurse on duty for continuity of care.
• Checking from time to time that all equipments at bedside are working properly and thus,
emergency kit/equipment is at-ease.

Nursery
• Follows and implements all the policies and procedures set out by the nursery.
• Early morning care done for all babies such as cord dressing, change diaper and linens, and taking a bath using luke warm water.
• Frequently attends babies' needs and changes position to promote comfort.
• Providing privacy while changing diapers.
• Monitoring and recording babies' vital signs in the chart.
• Carrying and implementing doctor's orders as soon as possible.
• Checking religiously the medication before administering it and during administration.
Observing the proper way of giving medication for infants.
Nursery (after delivery)
• Does routine newborn care: sunctioning, cord dressing anthropometric measurements, foot
printing and prophylaxis.
• Establishes proper identification on infant: crip tags and ID band.
• Performs immediate latch-on to mother.
• Monitors infants vital signs closely for the first few hours of life.
• Performs daily bathing, weighing and cord dressing of infants.
• Assists the pediatrician in certain procedures like venoclysis, umbilical catheterization,
needling and exchange transfusion.
• Maintains proper documentation at all times.
