MAS Linea Aqua is the leading swimwear manufacturing company in Asia partnered with MAS Holdings, Speedo International (UK) and Brandot International (USA). Aqua's Manufacturing capabilities ranges from high-performance competition swimwear to designer wear, leisure and children's swimwear. As a Business Analyst in the Financial reporting team my roles and responsibilities expand towards advance Financial and operational Analysis. Key areas are,
1) Carryout Customer profitability and Value stream analysis of the Business (MOM Basis) and coordinate with the Front end (Merchandising and Marketing) Teams.
2) Assist on Transfer pricing calculations of the business
3) Effectively participate on annual budget setting process of the group
4) Involve with Lean Manufacturing Techniques
5) Other Adhoc reporting such as developing Long range plans for the business, Cost of Failure calculations
6) Adhere to other operational requirements of the business
Reporting to the General Manager of Richard Pieris distributors limited, which is the controlling hub of Arpico
supermarket chain and the leading subsidiary of the whole group that contributes 50% of the consolidated revenue.
Key responsibilities are,
1) Overlooked the entire management accounting function on the entire retail chain (80 Stores across Sri Lanka)
2) Preparation of Performance Dashboards related to Financial and Non-financial performance and address
them to the senior management including the CFO, Board of Directors and the Chairman of the group
3) Profitability reporting on individual store under the guidance of the Financial Controller.
4) Use of relevant costing / Incremental costing Practices
5) Productivity Index preparation
6) Preparation of feasibility and other investment reports for newly planned retail stores.
7) Involve in annual Budget preparation.
I have been promoted to the Financial Reporting and Corporate planning team of Aviva Insurance as part
of the nonprofit team focusing on the actuary and nonprofit share fund.
The main responsibilities are,
1) Preparation of monthly management accounts
2) Review of monthly account reconciliations including inter-company and bank reconciliations
3) Prepare monthly, quarterly Financial Accounts and reporting the same to the onshore clients in UK
and assisting to the group consolidation process.
4) General administration, management and co-ordination of functions within the Non-Life section in
wider Life Financial Reporting Team
5) Preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy and
quality.
6) Preparation of insightful variance analysis of actual vs. plan to various senior stakeholders of the
company.
Part of the Accounts receivable team of International Baccalaureate (IB) Finance department. IB is a world
recognized educational institute which operates in Asia Pacific, North America, Latin America, Africa,
Europe and Middle East regions. Account receivable team in Colombo carries out the operational activities
in all the regions and reports to the Finance team in Singapore.
1) Exposure in working in Oracle systems excel and other ERP interfaces
2) Knowledge on preparing job cards and DPM modules related to Oracle R12 system transition
3) Maintain up-to-date billing system Credit card payment investigations with pay-point
4) Preparation of daily and weekly progress reports, analyze data and reconciliation for IB and for the
WNS management
5) Ensuring timely and accurate follow-ups on claims billed and payment collections
6) Responsible for generating multiple AR accounting reports and disseminating them within the
finance-operations department
7) Research and resolve payment discrepancies
8) Investigate and resolve customer queries
